here’s our recipe, menu ideas, and ‘model days’/800 calorie days thread. Please feel free to post any meals (include the calories/carbs if you can) and any whole day 800 calorie menu plans.

Also- any shop bought items that are BSD compatible, or pre-prepped foods in shops, or chain restaurants that you have tried and enjoyed.

Please post any questions/comments regarding the diet itself on our main thread to keep this one simply for food ideas.

BABAGANOUSH (copied from @itshottoday post)

Recipe: roast two medium aubergines in hot oven for about 40 mins -prick skins first so they don't explode. Cool, peel and then I blitzed with 3tbsp olive oil, one tbsp tahini and lemon juice, salt, cumin and smoked paprika. I then weighed and divided into 4 portions of about 150 cals. Was delicious with crunchy celery, radish and green beans.

FETA & SUNDRIED TOMATO STUFFED CHICKEN
(Stolen from @thenewaveragebear1983)

www.web-goddess.org/archive/10096

I basically finely chopped sundried toms olives,,basil, feta, lemon and garlic, stuffed a chicken breast and then wrapped it in Parma ham.

Putting here so I’ll be able to find it as sounds delish!
red pepper quiches
Cut two red peppers lengthways and brush with olive oil with salt and oregano/mixed herbs in, you can add a crushed garlic clove too if you like it
Roast at 180 for 15mins
Meanwhile beat 4 eggs in a bowl and add salt, pepper, 100ml full fat milk, 60g finely grated cheese, finely diced shallot and 1/2 head of finely diced broccoli. I often add pancetta too.
Split mix between peppers and cook for another 10 mins or until egg is set.
They are delicious and really filling - I usually serve them with salad or wilted kale. Sometimes I need more milk if the peppers are large to fill them up

@nibbleQueen Your menu yesterday sounded lovely!
L: scallop/tofu/green beans /broccoli; kefir ice cream
S: kimchi
D: salmon, za'atar carrots, pistachio dukkah; bit of choccy
Would you mind popping your recipes on here please? Especially za’atar carrots & pistachio dukkah. And where’s D’you get kefir ice cream from? And do you make your own kimchi?

NibbleQueen · 13/08/2020 07:44

Hi Kimlek! Aw I'm blushing.

The scallop and tofu broth was a riff from Diana Henry's prawn, chive and tofu broth from her book A change of appetite. It's a great book, I highly recommend it. Her chicken thighs with pumpkin and star anise from it is one of my all time faves!

The carrots was my own creation but here's a rough recipe to serve 2
400g carrots cut into batons, coated in 1tbsp olive oil and seasoning then roasted. After roasting tossed w about 1tsp za'atar.
For the dukkah, roasted about 15g pistachios (used hazelnut the other day which was lush) and chop. Toast 1tsp black sesame Seeds and add. Toast 1ish tsp coriander seeds, lightly crush and add. Same with about 1tsp cumin seeds. Add a large pinch flaky salt and serve on top of the carrots (we had them cool not hot). Have added feta before too.

I got the kefir from waitrose, I looked it up and i think they're the only stockist right now.

I didn't make the kimchi but when I got it home I did look up how to do it as its expensive to buy and I feel bad using the packing when I could make it. Do you have any recipes?

Kimlek · 16/08/2020 08:49

Huge thanks NibbleQueen I’ve never made kimchi. I think my dd tried once but it went mouldy; think the lid wasn’t airtight enough. @justanotherneighinparadise would you kindly post that fish with coconut etc & your Keto coleslaw here please? Both sound & look lovely! x

Kimlek · 16/08/2020 08:51

Despite being able to open a bookstore just selling cookbooks I think I’m going to get your Diana Henry recommendation Nibble

Kimlek · 18/08/2020 09:10

@oysterbabe you can post all your amazing food photos and recipes here. They’ll get list in the other thread, which would be such a shame!!

MysweetAudrina · 13/09/2020 11:37

Is this a no no? 70g full fat Greek yogurt, big handful of ice cubes, 1/4 mango and a few strawberries in the nutri bullet. It was so refreshing to break my fast this way but I'm thinking in a bowl would have been better as probably spiked my insulin making it into a shake.

Kimlek · 12/10/2020 21:55

@MysweetAudrina the fruit could be a bit carby due to the sugar but it certainly won’t be a ‘no no’!! Sounds lovely

Butterfly44 · 13/03/2021 08:18

Shamelessly placemarking
