I sometimes have a small sandwich at lunchtime with warburtons thins and ham or something (140 cals)and a salad in the evening or a weight watchers meal (300 ish cals) and some grapes or an orange. Oh and plenty of water, tea and bovril.

bishboschone · 26/01/2014 15:57

Vegtable soup makes a great lunch
Salad is very good
Fish, chicken or turkey with veg for dinner
Baked beans (1/4 tin) is nice an filling extra

Shazjack1 · 26/01/2014 17:35

Only been doing it for 3 weeks but lost 8lb so far.

ChubbyKitty · 26/01/2014 17:36

Last fast day I had mini kievs and curly fries. I never eat breakfast/lunch so I had a small portion of each(like children's size) and then a bowl of bran flames for supper.

Not very nutritious but I enjoyed it Wink

ChubbyKitty · 26/01/2014 17:37

Bran flakes.

Flames are not tasty.

musicmum75 · 26/01/2014 17:37

Two oatibix with semi-skimmed milk for breakfast, an oatcake or celery stick about 3pm and a recipe from the Fast Diet book for dinner with about 200 calories in it.

MrsBungle · 26/01/2014 17:38

I have a weight watchers chicken noodle soup at lunch (51calories)

For dinner I usually have a grilled chicken breast and some salad or maybe a weight watchers ready meal.

CuntyBunty · 26/01/2014 17:44

Oranges, hard boiled eggs with salt and maybe a Perle de Lait yogurt (149 cal, but lovely). Nibble on celery and cucumber.

CuntyBunty · 26/01/2014 17:47

One of the incentives for me doing this 5:2 thing with DH is that I don't cook. I make the DCs' meals, but for us, it's a non-cooking night and that gives me extra leisure time to just actually sit with the Dss and watch a bit of tv with them instead of cooking.

Southeastdweller · 27/01/2014 08:02

Eggs, soup, veg, fruit, and skinny popcorn. I feel like I don't want to get too involved with food when fasting.

jenniferlawrence · 27/01/2014 09:26

Today I'm going to eat some homemade butternut squash soup (100 kcals) and some steamed salmon and brocolli.

Last week I had home made Thai chicken noodle broth one fast day and a WW ready meal with extra steamed veg another day.

No breakfast, soup for lunch, and then a protein and veg combination for dinner. Tonight it will be quorn sausages with celeriac mash, last week I made courgette ribbons in tomato sauce with crispy chorizo, fish or prawn stirfry is a favourite, and eggs are always a standby.

TalkinPeace · 27/01/2014 15:00

nothing at all till supper
then soup or stir fry or omelette

Megrim · 27/01/2014 16:27

Tea / coffee / water all day, then a fishcake or omelette with lots of salad or veg for tea. Marigold bouillon drinks are filling for minimal calories. Quite easy to do the kids' tea as eldest is a swimmer and eats super healthily.

bishboschone · 27/01/2014 16:45

All those who sound like experts , have you lost much weight?

OP posts:
TalkinPeace · 27/01/2014 16:48

not for the last year, but I'm quite happy with that

have a look at the "inspiration" thread

DefiniteMaybe · 27/01/2014 16:53

I tend to have stir fry or fish and veg for tea, I don't eat anything but that one meal on fast days.

I've been on 5:2 for about a month and have lost 20lb (but I am really overweight and have lots to lose)

bishboschone · 29/01/2014 16:37

Has anyone tried zero noodles ? I ha them today , they weren't too bad .

Lilliput · 29/01/2014 19:42

I have just tea for breakfast, berries and yoghurt for lunch then eggs, soup or small portion if whatever everyone else is having. For example last night I had a bratwurst, dry fried mushrooms with garlic and parsley and broccoli.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2014 19:48

I'm currently on black coffee/herbal tea in the morning, a sachet of miso soup and lunchtime, a cup of tea or two in the afternoon and then a reasonable dinner, often a ready meal though tomorrow I've got some butternut squash and chorizo stew (recipe on the 5:2 recipe thread). Decaf tea at bedtime. And lots of water, hot or cold.

bishboschone · 29/01/2014 20:44

Is miso soup low cal?
