Hi all, just wondering if any of you ladies have taken cerazette and how did you find it? Dr prescribed it to me yesterday. Thanks Smile

Going to lurk as my dr wants me to have this - seeing her on TUes for prescription. IN my case it is to reduce PMT symptoms.

PsychicPaper · 01/02/2014 11:41

I have been taking it for 7 years.

Love it, no periods, no stress, no hassle.

But coming off it to TTC soon, so no experience of that side of things yet

AnnabelleLee · 01/02/2014 11:44

I've been on it for 6 months and have random bleeding most of the time.

eeyore2911 · 01/02/2014 11:47

I went on it after DS2, no problems at all, liked having no periods, no noticeable side effects etc. came off it end of Oct to ttc and BFP 15th November Grin so my experience was pretty good really!

Summer29 · 01/02/2014 11:47

I was taking this for about 5 years and it made my periods a lot lighter which was an absolute bonus!
I came off it to try for a baby got pregnant within 9 months, so it worked fine for me :-)

WhyIRayLiotta · 01/02/2014 11:48

I was on it for a few years. Random bleeding for the first few months... Nothing heavy - but annoying. Then no periods. Ever! It was great - but I was always a little on edge that I would start one out of the blue... Or that I was pregnant. Came off it about 6 months before I conceived DD.

I do think it made me quite moody. And I out on weight when I came off it so I'm reluctant to start it again.

LadyMaryLikesCake · 01/02/2014 11:51

I've been taking it for a couple of months. AF is a lot lighter but I'm finding that I'm feeling a little low or short tempered for a couple of weeks mid cycle. I'm hoping it will settle down. No random bleeding but this months' AF has lasted for 10 days (light though), twas three last month. Sad

StormyBrid · 01/02/2014 11:53

I was on it for nine months. Thank god DP was able to get over his squeamishness about blood, otherwise we'd have had no sex for that nine months. Spotting constantly. On the plus side, no issues with fertility when I came off it - was upduffed five weeks later.

ItsSoooFluffy · 01/02/2014 11:53

So far I'm not rating the idea of random prolonged bleeding Hmm thanks for all your replies. I guess I will just have to find out for myself how I will react on it. Have tried practically every contraception and none of them seem to suit me so I'm really hoping this will be perfect for me.

I tried several different types of pill and used to struggle
with remembering to start taking it again after the week's break. Cerazette really suits me because there is no break, so problem solved! Also I don't have periods at all, which is fantastic. Get the occasional bit of spotting once every few months but that's it. The only problem I've had with it is I find it pretty hard to lose weight- could probably do with losing a couple of stone. Low carbing now which seems to be helping. My doctor said everyone gets on with it differently so give it a go and see how you get on!

2cats2many · 01/02/2014 12:02

I had to stop taking it after 4 weeks. I had never bled so heavily in my life. I could barely leave the house. It really wasn't for me. Such a shame as I really fancied no more periods.

Badvoc · 01/02/2014 12:12

Nightmare :(

justabigdisco · 01/02/2014 12:16

I was on it for a few years before conceiving my first DC. I loved it - no periods, no side effects, easy.
Went back on it after DC and was gutted as I now have periods - roughly one a month (irregular) and sometimes lasting a week or more, but light. I'm still happy with it tbh - the only thing is that I can't predict when periods are coming.

mrsbug · 01/02/2014 12:17

Was on it for 5 years. No periods = win.

Came off it to TTC, had a horrendous month of constant pmt, followed by a heavy period. Got pg the next month Smile

Been back on it for a month now and am currently having a light bleed (period would have been due around now). Hoping I go back to having no periods again after this.

themonsteratemyspacebar · 01/02/2014 12:18

I have just come off it. Was on it for 3 months.
Had normal periods, didnt stop or get worse. Got so depressed and cried over anything. Literally could barely be bothered to move, felt awful about myself. Me and DP nearly broke up over it. Came off it and within a couple of days felt right back to normal.

Friend had to come off it within a few weeks as it made her angry and aggressive.

But you wont know until you try. Everyones different. But be careful and know yourself enough to realise when things are wrong. My friends was immediately obvious, whereas mine slowly crept up on me over 3 months.

mrsbug · 01/02/2014 12:18

Bugger, x posted with disco. Hope it's not the same for me but it would still be better than normal periods.

BillyBanter · 01/02/2014 12:21

Been on it for the 2nd time for a couple of years. Stopped bleeding altogether. No issues except (as I was single so not getting any) I noticed that my 3 days of horniness a month disappeared which was a tiny bit scary when I realised.

RollerCola · 01/02/2014 14:40

I tried taking it before Xmas but within a week I started feeling incredibly anxious. I lasted about 3 weeks in the end..I knew it was that causing it because I had no reason to feel upset or anxious about anything. It came completely out of the blue.

I'd wake up with my heart racing, just panicking about nothing in particular. As soon as I stopped taking it I felt fine again.

It's not for me. Changed to Noriday now & I'm fine.

FairyPenguin · 01/02/2014 14:50

I took it for about 3 months. I didn't really stop bleeding the whole time, either having proper periods or spotting. It was lighter than my heavy periods that I started taking it for, but I think I preferred those to constant bleeding. I completely lost sex drive so that was not a problem on my part but not great for DH. And felt not 100% - couldn't put my finger on it but felt so much better when I came off it. Never again - it didn't agree with me at all.

vichill · 01/02/2014 14:55

I was on it for 4 years. Lots of light bleeding and a moderate real period each month. after investigations for something more sinister, I was told that the hormones were struggling to suppress my cycle. If youre particularly fertile or over 11.5 stone this can happen apparently.

vichill · 01/02/2014 14:57

Made me very spotty too

TheRaniOfYawn · 01/02/2014 14:57

I stopped taking it after a fortnight or so when I started self-harming and having suicidal thoughts having been absolutely fine before I started on it.

LadyStark · 01/02/2014 15:03

Really good, been on it for about 2 yrs. No bleeding, no PMT, it's been the best pill I've ever tried.

ItsSoooFluffy · 01/02/2014 15:33

therani that's sounds really scary!

ilovepowerhoop · 01/02/2014 15:35

I took it for 3 years and had no periods apart from very occasional light spotting. Came off it to get the mirena coil.
