NYMT/BYMT 2024!

Seeing as NYMT have announced their shows, it feels like a good time to start a thread for anyone with DC planning on auditioning for 2024 for either NYMT or BYMT - as performers or musicians, or as assistant creatives. Please come and say hi and tell us a bit about your DC. There are lots of experienced parents of DC who have been part of both organisations, and these threads are always genuinely supportive and helpful.
I'll invite some previous thread participants below - please come and say hi!

@Mumofamusician I’m sorry you haven’t had any information. I wonder if your emails have gone astray somehow.

My DS isn’t a musician so I haven’t got much information, but the original email said musicians would be needed on the morning of 16th December. From our point of view we’ve actually been impressed with communication both for the concert and the auditions. Last year we didn’t get an acknowledgment of the audition application and I had to email to check it had been received, then everything else always seemed really last minute. This time we got an audition acknowledgment straightaway and the concert information has been a bit more upfront. I can’t find a telephone number, though, sorry.

Hi All - been busy lurking up til now as my DD has been so busy with school.

We booked BYMT Manchester a few weeks ago and got an email today asking about availability for The Easter production today. Anyone else booked their auditions and heard anything back yet?

Who else is going to be at Manchester this year?

I think they did mention that there would be an Easter production at the concert but it was in passing.

Who else was at the NYMT Christmas concert last night? Wasn't that such a treat? The harmonies, the band, the singers, the venue, the atmosphere of togetherness and Christmas spirit? It's such a lovely event.

I may have missed this in my haste to get everything done for Christmas but do those auditioning need to submit a video of themselves singing for the NYMT audition
this year?

Quick question on NYMT - am I remembering correctly, don't they normally ask for a photo? I don't recall adding one for DDs to their application this time.

We brought photos along with us to the audition last year @wonderfullife123 and they attached it to DD's form.

That's a good point about the photos. I asked DS who doesn't think he's been asked for one anywhere online while booking his audition, but it would definitely be good for the DC to take a photo with them. Maybe there will be a communication as soon as New Year is out of the way.

Is there any news on directors, choreographers etc? Just been to see the fab White Christmas and Alex Parker was the MD so got me thinking.

It's 2024! Happy New Year everyone! I officially declare the waiting room open! Good luck to all the DC auditioning as stage performers and as band members - and to any going for creative mentorship posts.

DS is being mysterious about when he is auditioning for NYMT, but for those of you with younger/more forthcoming DC, shall we post on here what dates and venues they are going to (for both NYMT and BYMT) so we can wish them luck and report back?
