Well done miniweird 🎉

The someone being my dear child!

That's a better reaction than my "omg - did he actually just win?" 🫣🤣

We're in a restaurant with it streaming. We saw the first two finish and saw their points before someone half yelled out "he's nicked it in the points, he's won!!"

It was great to watch!! 2 S10s racing, 2 S9s racing and 2 S6s racing.

They don't get to race solely in their classification until international qualifying level. So that was the closest they were going to get!!!

Madcats · 24/07/2023 09:19

Congratulations!!!!!

His (newish) coach(es) must be chuffed too.

itsgettingweird · 25/07/2023 08:17

Anyone still up here?

We are here today and tomorrow and going home Thursday morning

Glittertwins · 25/07/2023 08:38

Yes, watching min weird and shouting for him!

Made the final tonight!!!

Going to be another exiting race!!!

What's your ds swimming next?

Glittertwins · 25/07/2023 11:08

Relay this afternoon.

OP posts:
itsgettingweird · 25/07/2023 14:10

That was exciting to watch!!!!

Glittertwins · 25/07/2023 18:46

He did well in that relay. They all helped lower their entry by 5 seconds or so

OP posts:
itsgettingweird · 25/07/2023 19:03

I love watching relays.

And that's a huge reduction. Over a second each Grin

Ds didn't have such a good evening 🫣🤦🏼‍♀️

Not terrible but he can go quicker and wanted to pb. But it's always good to learn how to pick yourself up from disappointment.

Glittertwins · 25/07/2023 19:36

I think he was at least two on his leg alone. They're all quite rightly pleased

Wow that's amazing.

Relays always bring out the best times Grin

itsgettingweird · 26/07/2023 21:45

Ds ended as he started! British para champion for 50m free Grin

This was the hurdle for him as he won this last year and it's never easy to retain a title as you feel the pressure!!!

However he smashed a on and nearly at his sub 27 target - 27.07!!!!

Good luck to all those swimming OW nationals this weekend.

Hellocatshome · 26/07/2023 22:33

Thats fantastic well done Not Do Mini Weird!

I have just been catching up on the drama of the transgender official being in the girls changing rooms, seems to have ruffled quite a few feathers.

DS has an awful cough just in time for OW Nationals so hebwill need your luck, thank you. Is your Dad there again this year?

WarningToTheCurious · 26/07/2023 22:37

Yay 🎉🎉 mini weird.

So pleased for you both (it takes a mum to make a champion).

Hellocatshome · 26/07/2023 22:42

Not So Mini Weird I meant obviously lol I have fat thumbs 🙈🤣

Madcats · 26/07/2023 22:56

I saw the "bloke in the ladies" on my Twitter feed and don't know Ponds Forge. Is it legit?

Thinking back to any pools DD has raced in, the poolside people tend to have lanyards (and they are tightening up reqs from 1 Sept for this), but anybody could get into changing rooms. Anybody can usually flounce in from the car park.

He was apparently there as an official so yes I would assume easily able to access the changing rooms. I've only heard about this second hand though.

itsgettingweird · 27/07/2023 05:35

I haven't heard anything except seen it on FB group.

I've been there everyday!

Anyone got a link?

Yes he's there again!!!

Although I think the weather will differ somewhat from last years heatwave!

Yes, the official is there. The only one wearing a skirt, very deep masculine voice and has been in the ladies loos and changing rooms.

Sharron Davies has retweeted a tweet about it. He is apparently also upset a Sheffield hotel wanted him to use the unisex changing rooms at their hotel pool rather than the womens changing rooms.
