Favour to ask of any competent pianist

This is a slightly bizarre request, I know...
Back in the day (1988), I passed grade 6 piano and recently found my book of exam pieces.
I am no nowhere near good enough to play them (having barely touched a piano in 30 yrs) but managed to find 3 of the 4 pieces on YouTube, which brought back so many memories.
I can't, however, find the 4th piece - John Ogdon's 'Song Without Words - The Rising Moon' anywhere on YouTube or t'internet.
If I were to upload the sheet music (just one page), would anyone be kind enough to play it for me, record it and upload to somewhere I can listen to it - maybe a public playlist on YouTube?

It's a long shot, I know...but TIA to anyone that may be able to help.

@AmandaHoldensLips It's a Boston UP118. DH was given some money and bought it 20 ish years ago. It's a lovely instrument, we're very happy with it (it probably gets played 5-7 days a week).

@Wigeon, thank you so much to you and Mr Wigeon.

I've just had a listen and it brought a tear to my eye - a combination of it bringing back memories from long ago, and being touched at the kindness of strangers taking time out of their day to do this.

It's a cool piece - maybe one day I'll get back up to speed and relearn it...😁

@Wigeon bloody hell, VERY nice!!!

MadeinBelfast · 26/03/2023 20:44

This is so lovely of you Widgeon, and your DH! I don't play but remember this piece from sitting in a friend's living room whilst she practised! Glad you were able to hear it again MESSING2.

Mumteedum · 26/03/2023 20:45

Awww I played this once too..@widgeon your dh plays beautifully. My lovely piano does not sound beautiful though so was nice to hear it again.

Wigeon · 26/03/2023 21:02

Aw, so glad several people are enjoying the recording! @MESSING2, it was a pleasure, DH enjoyed doing it and also thinks it's a lovely piece. Then started giving me the technical reasons why the chords / harmony sound scrunchy...! (To be fair, I did ask!)

@AmandaHoldensLips - 😁his granny gave us a very generous wedding present (it was a bit cheaper than the current list price although not hugely...). He is a secondary school music teacher and both DDs do a lot of music, so it does get a lot of use. Although his main instruments are voice and flute and he's not really a pianist.

Beautiful! What a lovely thread. x

So lovely Wigeon! And hubby isn't even a " pianist". It was so nice and courageous of him.
In fact there's a piece I have been wanting to learn, " Sicilienne" , by Gabriel Faure, but haven't touched my piano in ages. I think your husband just gave me the courage to crack it open!!

Wigeon · 27/03/2023 07:30

😊

Wigeon · 27/03/2023 07:30

@GMas you should absolutely give it a go!

MESSING2 · 27/03/2023 09:14

Agree @GMas, you should go for it - so pleased this thread and Wigeon and her DH are inspiring people to dust off their sheet music.

So nice to know there are other former pianists thinking of coming out of retirement. I've mastered my Grade 4 scales and pieces so onwards and upwards to Grade 5.

My piano is about 70 years old and in amazing condition - rarely needs tuned. I was going to get rid of it for an electric one but my son won't let me!

Derbee · 27/03/2023 13:37

This is what mumsnet is so amazing for! The kindness of strangers 😊 @Wigeon you and your DH are very kind
