Favour to ask of any competent pianist

This is a slightly bizarre request, I know...
Back in the day (1988), I passed grade 6 piano and recently found my book of exam pieces.
I am no nowhere near good enough to play them (having barely touched a piano in 30 yrs) but managed to find 3 of the 4 pieces on YouTube, which brought back so many memories.
I can't, however, find the 4th piece - John Ogdon's 'Song Without Words - The Rising Moon' anywhere on YouTube or t'internet.
If I were to upload the sheet music (just one page), would anyone be kind enough to play it for me, record it and upload to somewhere I can listen to it - maybe a public playlist on YouTube?

It's a long shot, I know...but TIA to anyone that may be able to help.

Sorry I can't help but I'm doing something similar to you. I passed Grade 7 and kept all my exam books. I've just started playing again at Grade 4 and hopefully work up to my previous standard.

Good luck!

MESSING2 · 24/03/2023 12:46

Ah, thanks RaraRachael - good luck to you too!

That was one of the pieces that I did for my grade 6 as well! That Spotify link above is not the correct piece sadly.

MESSING2 · 24/03/2023 13:43

Thanks for investigating, RBE78 - sadly that's not it. So weird, it's nowhere to be found.
Hotchocdrinker - are you still able to play it? 😁

I might be able to, or DH or DD! Can you just post as an image on the thread?

Wigeon · 24/03/2023 13:46

Alternatively, DH might be able to track down an online recording - he's a music teacher and A level music examiner and spends a lot of time finding music online..

hotchocdrinker · 24/03/2023 16:37

@MESSING2 , can I still play it? Well, I've just had a go, and the answer is, kind of...! It's not the loveliest piece but I think it's the easiest piece in the exam book!

MESSING2 · 24/03/2023 16:44

TempNC thanks but it's not either of those - though the second one is lovely, I definitely recognise it.

@hothotchocdrinker I've attached it, is it the same one? Apologies for terrible quality and scribbles all over it 😬

@Wigeon, if you/DH/DD can decipher the messy script, that would be ace 🙏

hotchocdrinker · 24/03/2023 16:54

@MESSING2 yes, that's it! When I was playing it through earlier I was thinking that the fingering is really odd, as are the instructions to play like an oboe and like a clarinet!

MESSING2 · 24/03/2023 16:55

Yes, I remember it being an odd piece, and the "quasi" instructions are bonkers 🤣 Thanks, @hothotchocdrinker

Just played it thorough (badly!) - I really like it! Did you like it when you did your G6? I’m not sure I managed quasi oboe or quasi claranetti…

I reckon DH and I could do a recording - he’s out tonight (obviously doing music!) but will see over the weekend.

MESSING2 · 24/03/2023 23:58

I can't remember if I liked it, think I found it quirky! Would be eternally grateful if your DH can spare the time, thank you.

Right, DH and I have just played it through (one hand each!) - he’s up for recording it for you. Bit busy this morning (ferrying children to yet more music !!) but will keep you posted. It’s a lovely piece.🙂

MESSING2 · 25/03/2023 10:34

@Wigeon you're a ⭐, thank you!

Just to say we didn't fit in the recording today but are going to attempt it tomorrow!

MESSING2 · 25/03/2023 21:37

Absolutely no rush whatsoever, @Wigeon

@Wigeon - that looks like a nice piano. Can I ask what it is? (I'm looking to replace mine so keeping an eye out.)

Wigeon · 26/03/2023 20:34

@MESSING2 ta da!
