Seems I managed to fill the other thread with talk of taking fridges to away galas! And I didnt even mean a fridge I meant an electric cool box Grin So I've started another thread. Hope you all find it.

An hour after getting in a swimming ds went to loo. Came back saying he had dodgy tummy.

Coach was like - see ya then!!!! And I won't see you tonight!!!!

Think there's some bug going around because quite a few swimmers have had some kind of 24 hour thing the past 10 days or so.

Yes definitely a bug going round. We had a gala at the weekend and quite a few swimmers didn't make it to day 2 through dodgy tummies.

Porseb · 07/07/2022 08:05

Also very high Covid infection rates atm putting some swimmers out too

Madcats · 07/07/2022 10:19

It's the same down in my neck of the woods.

Covid is doing the rounds because so many families had somebody at Glastonbury. I'm not sure where the tummy bug came from.

British swimming have said they'll be a stand on the day to buy tickets if they are available at British champs

Do you think they'd do resells?

itsgettingweird · 09/07/2022 05:24

No idea.

The events persons email is [email protected].

Worth emailing to ask

Glittertwins · 09/07/2022 05:59

Thanks, I will!

itsgettingweird · 09/07/2022 15:06

Those racing at British had a race preparation practice this morning at training.

They put the timing boards up and everything.

Ds did really well. 0.4 out of his pb (100 free).

Not bad when still in training cycle and not rested (although he missed 3 sessions this week as wasn't well)

Glittertwins · 09/07/2022 15:32

We've got an LC meet next weekend. He's not racing his entries but it keeps the race practice in

itsgettingweird · 09/07/2022 15:37

Ds has para swimmjng race prep camp next Sunday! That's LC too.

Getting close now <wibbles>

So successful weekend for DS who won gold at the Regional Open Water Champs and has now qualified for Nationals. So proud of him,.but now going to live in a constant state of fear until I've managed to sign him up for it successfully as it all seems pretty complicated 🙈

If it was East Region, the results are up and with details of entry - by the 20th July for those who qualified by regionals

itsgettingweird · 11/07/2022 20:21

For those at British I received an email tonight with extra info.
Check your emails!

It does say tickets are available on door (card payment) subject to availability. However finals tickets are £11 instead of £9.50.

Glittertwins · 11/07/2022 20:22

Yep, just got that email too. I've updated our stuff with warm up times now

Be grateful yours aren't 7.15am 😫😫😫

You need to be back quite early for finals (although obviously you'll just stay!)

Let's hope this frigging heatwave is over my then!

Ds has been invited to a race prep camp with para swimming this Sunday in Coventry.

They had the same thing last weekend at club so die to being 2.5 hours away and it forecast to be 34°c I've suggested he discusses with his coach. I had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago (tomorrow) and I feel it'll be too much for me too.

Thanks, it was North West/North East. I've had the official email and been told results sent to Swim England so should be able to enterbin next 48 hours after his name is on the list. I've filled in photo consent and doping form so I think I'm getting there organisation wise.

itsgettingweird · 12/07/2022 04:07

Once you have doping forms and biogs etc sorted it's much easier to enter.

Glittertwins · 12/07/2022 05:23

We'll be taking them home and bringing back this weekend - one definite advantage to their meet being relatively local.

What is the biog?

itsgettingweird · 12/07/2022 07:55

If you go to the swimming.org page and click biogs at the top you can log in there using asa number.

I'm not sure for open water but for British I couldn't enter ds until I'd put his height and weight in. This information isn't displayed publicly.

Glittertwins · 12/07/2022 09:35

@Hellocatshome - he'll need it for the accreditation
