Traditionally for many years MN has had an audition thread; so here it is as the auditions start in a few days 😀

Well done to all those that got their places and commiserations to the others... the standard sounds unbelievably high so they’ve all done well. Still waiting here, DD not expecting to get a place but you can’t help hoping a teeny bit!

tea I don't know the North East well, but have you heard of www.northumbrianstrings.co.uk I believe they hold regular workshops, and their director is/used to be an NCO violin tutor.

U13s coming in now. Glad to have a place as DD was in years after the audition as she said completely messed up her sight reading. But really miss the feedback. It was so special.

Ah, DD was offered associates only Sad but unfortunately all the regionals are too far for us, especially now she has JD on Saturdays too.
Last year she was offered associates but was obviously first reserve as she got offered U12 in January... so I will hold out hope.
It's probably a good thing- less travel, and her JD fees have pretty much wiped out all our savings. She will be disappointed, but has more than enough to keep on with musically.

Many congratulations to all those who got places! And as folkmama said- as one door closes another opens Smile

Mains Cello place for DS! He was in a cello lesson when the email came so lovely to be able to share it with him and his teacher at the same time. He's so so happy and I'm delighted that he'll be able to see his amazing NCO journey through to its conclusion. Huge well done to everyone else and fingers crossed for all those still waiting to hear - especially DS's U13s friends x

No place for DD but lovely ‘non-standard’ email with very encouraging comments so overall a positive experience. Very proud of her mature attitude, she’s already planning her next step! Congratulations to all the DC who got a spot.

Me too :) I wasn't ready for it to all end yet, but Goo refused to entertain the idea of trying again until a few days beforehand, and Rara can be unreliable... so I thought that was it for us!
