We're having a PJ night tonight. I've lost lots of weight and my PJ's and onesies are too big. Plus it's hot weather here!

Did you find some jammies to fit ok Groovee?

I've been and paid for Lush today for my Guides. Can't believe we're coming to the last half term of our 1st year Shock. The difference between now and when we first started is quite HUGE, thinking back. I had a celebratory 'pleased with myself ' Wine last night instead of an "oh my fucking god what have I done", drink Grin

RueDeWakening · 18/05/2017 20:13

My social media is being drowned by GGUK today Grin everyone seems to be talking about ideas for new badges when the programme changes.

So, has anyone submitted any ideas? I just want Rainbows to have interest badges. Any interest badges would be great!

InflagranteDelicto · 19/05/2017 14:21

My social media was smothered too. Not submitted any designs or ideas, but imagine the ideas would be interesting!

How did your dd get on second?

Groovee · 19/05/2017 15:34

I went in my Cookie Monster onesie which was far too hot. But lots of exciting feedback from the parents regarding Den building in pj's.

Not thought about the new badges but I do feel so new ones would be a good addition x

Im hoping that some or all of the badges will go all the way through the sections. Would be nice for Rainbows and Rangers/Senior Section/whatever they are next to have the chance as well.

Brownie holiday this weekend, two last minute drop outs 30 minutes after I've finished printing everything possible, allocated beds and sixes. #DailyMailLevelOfFuming Angry

Groovee · 23/05/2017 09:31

Ah Becles x

Oh bother!

Had a fab night, took the unit to the local woods for den building. Safe to say an awesome time was had by all Smile

drspouse · 23/05/2017 21:16

Haven't been on in a bit but just heard one of the girls who died in Manchester was a Brownie in our County.

Groovee · 24/05/2017 10:26

Oh Dr that is so sad. 😢

I'm den building with my Rainbows tomorrow Inflagrante, any tips?

InflagranteDelicto · 25/05/2017 09:43

Can send you my risk assessment! We put an adult with each group, had a few more floating. Basic safety instructions were issued before we reached the area so they could go off in their groups and go for it.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 25/05/2017 14:08

A helper's dropped out so we won't have enough adults to float, there'll be one with each small group though. Good idea to do the safety bit first before they're distracted!

InflagranteDelicto · 05/06/2017 00:01

Making paracord keyrings with the brownies, either this week or next... How bad could it be?

drspouse · 05/06/2017 11:35

We had a walk to an estuary beach with driftwood campfire and smores - bliss!

CrystalQueen · 05/06/2017 12:59

survived (and even enjoyed) our County Camp with about 90 Guides. The silent disco was awesome.

drspouse · 05/06/2017 16:34

We have County Camp in a few weeks' time, I'm taking all four of mine (and the oldest is moving up to be a YL with our Rainbows immediately after!)
I've just been told I need to come up to the site on one of the two days before (i.e. Weds or Thurs) to put up my and the girls' tent.
Apparently I have nothing else to do... like spend some time with my DCs and DH the week before I abandon them for camp.

InflagranteDelicto · 05/06/2017 23:19

DrSpouse, that sounds a lovely evening. Tomorrow is all planned, so long as the paint arrives. Pebble painting, and Japanese braid bracelets to start. Chat to be had with the 5 leavers, about leaving! And about brownie holiday, before I announce it to the wider unit at the end of the evening. Preparing for this feels a bit chicken and egg-y right now.

CrystalQueen · 08/06/2017 12:56

Drspouse you're lucky you are allowed to put your tents up in advance. It's quite strict at our campsite - the chances of anyone finding the place to steal the tents is miniscule in my opinion!

drspouse · 08/06/2017 13:27

I'm not worried about them being stolen - I would just rather I didn't have an extra evening of Guide stuff sprung on me, and that it wasn't assumed I'm free to do it!

Groovee · 12/06/2017 12:18

We're finished brownies for the term. But it's been a busy week due to join us enquiries. We have a lack of leaders in the area and a huge amount of girls not gone to rainbows now wanting Brownie places 🙈

MillicentMargaretAmanda · 12/06/2017 12:32

I was about to does double take Groovee, but of course you're in Scotland, aren't you. Good luck with your Join Us list!

Groovee · 12/06/2017 14:57

I am in Scotland. Some leaders are on holiday while I am preparing to have surgery. It's been a tough year so far so trying hard to settle the pace down.

Lovely sleepover at the weekend. It was a catered venue so much less work than usual!
Spent last night sending out forms for camp in mid-July and an activity for a meeting later in the term.
We're off for a wander at the meeting this week, as the sixes follow each other's directions (Out and About badge) to see if they end up in the right place!
