NickyBella - surely they will give you the results over the phone or email if it is lost??They can send the report in slower time?

Oh I hope you hear soon NickyBella and that it's good news Smile

Wafflenose · 19/12/2016 17:01

Oh my goodness, I can't BELIEVE you still haven't had it! I do wonder about their policy of not giving out results by phone or post in circumstances like this - surely it would be kinder?! I kept hoping your letter had been held back because it was extra special super duper news or something. I do hope so! (Would also be astonished if she didn't get in!)

NickyBella · 21/12/2016 12:27

Thanks to everyone for your support we have today had the letter I am now deaf in one ear after a very excited dd screamed with excitement, she has been offered a place in the under 12s which is absolutely fantastic.

Well done to everyone hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year.

Wafflenose · 21/12/2016 12:37

Excellent, what a wonderful Christmas present for you both, and hopefully well worth the wait! Goo is really looking forward to seeing her again, and not too long to wait this time.

folkmamma · 21/12/2016 12:45

Hooray!

NickyBella · 21/12/2016 12:51

Thanks it was definitely worth the wait and the best Christmas pressie for dd. It's so exciting they'll have a fab time my little one is looking to seeing Goo too. X

bassclef · 21/12/2016 15:03

Great news NickyBella, well done to your DD!

Wafflenose · 21/12/2016 16:58

Been thinking about you both all day - so thrilled! They will be away for my 40th birthday in April, and wedding anniversary in July! Oh well, will just have to do something nice with Rara and DH.

NickyBella · 21/12/2016 17:32

Oh no that's such bad timing you'll have to all celebrate before the courses and again on the day that way you'll get two fun days for each. X

stringchild · 21/12/2016 19:44

Well done Nicky!! We will see you there (dd sits behind your dd's desk 😀)

Waffle - will make the concerts extra special, I am sure

I hadn't thought of that... sort of like an extra birthday and anniversary present! I did think of asking to come over and take Goo out for the relevant afternoon in April as we're so nearby (50 miles!) but I don't think NCO would consider that a good enough reason, and I'm not sure she would want to leave!

NickyBella · 21/12/2016 21:41

Thanks stringchild the kids will have an absolute ball my dd is already way too excited. See you there have a good Xmas

NickyBella · 21/12/2016 21:44

That's a thought, you could ask. I know my little one wouldn't leave for the afternoon I find it hard enough getting her home at the end of the week, she's so pleased they get 2 weeks playing with the orchestra this year instead of just one.

NickyBella · 19/01/2017 16:10

Great day just heard that my student has been taken off the reserve list and put in the under 12s as well. Feeling very happy they will all have a ball. Wish I was going again. 😃😃😃

Wafflenose · 19/01/2017 18:38

Wow, Nicky, that's amazing news for you, and for her! Well done to you both. I have a little pupil in Under 10s this year. She has just coped really well with regionals, and is very excited.

NickyBella · 19/01/2017 19:15

That's fantastic bet your really pleased regionals at 10 can be scary. our regionals are on Sunday so will wait and see what the reaction is. The down side is It's miles away this year I have a 5 hour round trip to undertake which I'm really NOT looking forward to.

Hello to all NCO knowledgeable mums here.

I would like to tap your knowledge of music/orchestra group opportunities for under 13s pianist.

My son is 10 and currently working on Grade 5 piano pieces. I will like him to be able to have a experience music in a group setting like NCO but am struggling to find an orchestra or similar type of groups for him. NCO doesn't take pianist and he is too young for NYO.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Or pro corda in Suffolk they do a residential piano course (ds hasn't been but we know someone who has and apparently it was great)

stringchild · 27/03/2017 09:15

Also Encore International Music Project at Wells - amazing piano teachers and lots of playing opps in ensembles and solo
