Concerns about Dance School..

My daughter has been passionate about dancing from an early age. She began having tap and modern classes at the age of 3 then moved to a different school of dance 2 years ago where she attends ballet tap and modern classes plus festival troupe on a different day.
They do a spectacular show every year and have also taken the festival troupe to Disneyland Paris. Last week, out of the blue the classes where split and my daughter was told she's not ready to take grade1 ballet next Feb. Some of the younger students are now in the same class so essentially they feel she hasn't progressed in 2 years.
My daughter was distraught, said she felt angrry with herself for not being good enough. We have invested so much time and money into her classes and hoped by doing this she would be able to fulfil her ambition to study dancing post 16-18.
She is very settled at the school and has made friends but I'm also concerned that it appears only the Principal has A.I.D.T.A, one of the other teaches is Pre Associate but at present my daughter isn't being taught by the Principal or the Pre-Associate.
It will be a huge wrench to move her but if we don't do it now we fear she will always be behind compared to other dance schools.
One of my friends at Zumba said her daughter was on pointe at age 12.
I'm actually finding this more stressful than my son's secondary school application! I'm not belittling that process but where we live it's very straightforward . I would like to hear from other parents who have been in this situation and also from parents of children who continued with dance after leaving school.

My last comment should say DD is now having lessons at an excellent school.

Update
Dd has settled well at her new dance school, the Principal is an ex ballerina and is in it for the love of Ballet. Dd has an extra lesson once a week and id learning so much,
We attended lecture demonstrations last weekend and it was very informative to see the Cecchetti training from the tots class up to Intermediate. I could see dd had progressed since watching week at Easter.

We got the chance to talk to other students and parents there is a boy who is aSenior Associate at the Royal Ballet School and a yr8 girl studying grade 5 and 6 who began at age 9 so she's been able to catch up.

Dd will be shortly taking grade 1 ISTD Cecchetti and we feel fortunate to belong to such a wonderful school with small classes, only 6 girls in Dd's class.

The tap and modern teacher is wonderful with them, she is learning more technical stuff than at her last school.

Dd was reluctant to leave the old school but she quickly realised that the teaching at the old school was lacking! There are 4 yr3 girls in the ballet class, dd and another girl are yr5 but they don't stand out as the yr 3 girls are varying heights and dd is in 8-9 yrs clothes anyway Grin

Another update
DD took grade 1 Cecchetti in October and got Distinction. We're both thrilled and it's really boosted her self belief.

I found out the old dance School won't be holding any examinations in ballet until 2018 at the earliest. They held IDTA exams in ballet in April 2016 but because of the busy schedule of annual shows they will have exams in Modern next year. We're so happy to be away from that place. This explains why the students make such slow progress in ballet, it's down to the teacher, not the ability of the student.
