1st camp for ds, ideas on what to take

I was out shopping all day for ds's 1st weekend camp and got really confused. I had a list that we were given but I wasn't really sure what to get. We got a sleeping bag, but we might have to return it because his feet were touching the bottom of the bag! I'd really appreciate any advise on what extras to take. Thanks.

He is back home. Very tired but wearing three layers of clothes. Not quite as daft as I thought.

Bath. Food Bed is my recommendation at this stage
Just off to pick up my 2 dds in a couple of mins.

Can i just say, PLEASE, don't let your DS take a wind up torch.

We had 10 Brownies all at 1am winding up their torches.

Then another got up to go to the loo and woke the rest up winding her torch at 4am.

As you can see, we got no sleep that night & have now asked for battery only torches at pack holiday/camps. &

Layers are the way to go.

Have got a Kit list. Looks good, sensible. Lists most things thta you have all recomended.

Anyone got a Cub blanket/Poncho they would like to sell? £18 on-line seems a bit toomuch.

Never seen anyone with one - most kids, mine included, have a washable fleece blanket. You can cut a head-hole poncho-stylee, but most just wrap it round them and drag it about in the dirt
