Advice for a Silverstone Rookie...

Going to Silverstone on Saturday to see practice and Qualification. Tickets do not include the stands. Taking 3 DCs (11, 8, 5). The boys (11, 5) are F1 fanatics. Any advice? How much time to allow for traffic? Taking own food as children are severely allergic.

You Lucky lucky things!

You deffo all need ear defenders - it is the loudest noise EVER.

Get cheapo ones from B & Q quickly before you go. - It won't take long just to nip in before you set off. and you won't regret it.

You can seriously damage your hearing if you haven't got them, it would be very uncomfortable without.

Traffic is well monitored, we've only been to Friday practice, but they close all roads to other traffic to allow max flow.

Have a FAB DAY!

Mnay thanks Furball. Just saw your message. We ended up buying two expensive ear defenders + two radios onsite. We hope to go to the Sunday race next year and will ensure that all 5 of us are well equipped.

Poor Button/Hamilton; expecting upgrade to work. Nothing like real testing (versus computer simulations). Lewis is darn impressive though, still managing to lug his car around to 4th on the grid. Hope that he beats baby Alonso.

Originally we were going to go to Friday practice but DS had end of term event. Quali Saturday is a good compromise and much cheaper than race day.

Thanks again
