Ok, I have just told a friend that I will do the great south run with her in October as a motivation to get fit.
I am not overweight but have lung ishoos. At the moment I can do a couple of miles walking/ jogging in about 15 minutes. I have just joined the gym and am planning on going 3 times a week and doing a fast walk/jog most other days.
Will this be enough? Any tips? Should I try the couch potato to 5 k thing? What exactly is it anyway? Please can someone link it? All help appreciated. TIA

It should be possible. Build up gradually. Try to to one long run a week and have at least one rest day.Maybe try to do a 10k before then. There is a running thread somewhere. Think its in sports and exercise.

Good luck.

Sorry missed the part about lung ishoos. Have you checked with your doctor that running is ok? I developed asthma running in London but it went away when I moved out.
