Anyone fancy joining in a Post-London Marathon enthusiasm Couch to 5K?

I used to be a runner. Honest.

Well, I used to run 3-4 times a week and do 10Ks occasionally. Then I went and had 2 kids and 2 lots of SPD. Youngest is now 18 months and I no longer get pelvic pain after walking so I think it is time to tie on those trainers again.

I have been looking at the couch to 5K threads and wondered if anyone wanted to join me. I have done week 1 run 1 - so far so good. I have never run with an ipod before but then I have never managed to do interval training without cheating before either!

Anyone?

I'm just starting up again too. I used to run a bit. Only 5k three times a week. Not run for a year or so now, and stupidly took up smoking in the meantime ( I know, I know ), so am desperately unfit.

I did week one last week, then got ill, so haven't run for 5 days, so am going to do week one again, starting today. I probably needed to do week one again anyway, to be honest.

When are you running again?

I'm not using the couch to 5k podcast. I have an iPhone, and have downloaded an app, which is similar, but means you can listen to your own music.

Tonight! Looks like it will be raining so extra motivation needed.

I have a slightly sore knee but can't decided if it is 'unfit - need to run more' or 'damaged - shouldn't run at all'. Ho hum, just making excuses really.

Good Luck with your run.

Just back from my second run.
Seems a bit easy (so much walking) but I think I do actually need to go really slowly. When I have tried to run again before now I think I tried to do too much to soon.

That iPhone app sounds great. Yet another reason why I want an iPhone - I so don't need one though.

Are you trying to give up smoking too Celery?

Just wanted to resurrect this thread - I have just started the Couch to 5K programme; did my very first run this morning with the podcast and I'm BUZZING. I am a life-long gym-dodger and didn't think I'd even manage the 60 second running stretches but I DID! Hope someone out there is doing it too, would love to hear some inspiring stories...
