I began running using the Rawbert podcasts exactly one year ago. Got to week 3 and then family circumstances meant I gave it up. Now I want to start again, and actually keep it up. I've had a great deal of personal issues and tragedy to deal with lately and I need some sort of escape route, plus 2 stone I need to lose asap.

So, my question is, does everyone use that type of running programme or would I be ok to devise my own? I hated to music on Rawbert and was thinking of just running to my own pace and see how I get on, probably take my own music and try to run for 1 song, walk for the next and build it up if you get what I mean. Would that be feasible or do I need a structured plan? Has anyone just gone out there and run and stuck to it without any sort of training plan?

Thanks

Hi All

Thank you so much for the lovely words and encouragement really touched. Unfortunately haven't managed a run this week as yet, either work gets in way or dp decides to bugger off on his bike or go to work overtime so I have no time to go. Hopefully tomorrow morning or Sunday if I can, also hoping my dvd will be back soonso at least I have something.

Orm hope things get better for you, good luck with the physio

orm - glad to hear it. I hate to think you are sitting there chomping at the bit due to an injury holding you back which is treatable. Good luck and keep me posted!

Well I did a bit more running today, popped to the gym while DD and her friends were swimming.

Made me realise that I prefer running outside, I kept feeling paranoid about my heavy breathing

I managed to run for 4 minutes in one go which is good for me, the rest was a combination of running and walking.

Think I might go out again tomorrow, I feel realy good afterwards.
