Hi, I joined DL years ago when kids under 6 were free, I know they now charge for kids but wondered how much and from what age? Can anybody help?

I have just been phoned by my David Lloyd club after booking swimming lessons for my 4 year old saying that they want £9 per month from me for him. Apparently, it's £9 per months from aged 2 months!!! I never got any notice about this, apparently it's been in force since 2008 and I was told I should've read the notices all around the club!! I didn't see any notices and we were never informed in writing of this. Not happy.

I got caught out like that as well, we were nobbled when I tried to book swimming lessons for dd. They were totally laid back about it though and said they weren't chasing people up & I certainly hadn't seen any signs about. I'm sure it'll put people off joining though and we're planning on cancelling our membership as soon as the council pool near us reopens after its refurbishment.

Our DD only goes to David Lloyd to have her swimming lessons, which we pay £££ for, and now we are being asked to fork out for a monthly membership for her. Not happy. I am looking for swimming lessons elsewhere, tho it is a shame cos she really likes her instructor at DL
