This was sent to me this morning and what with David Cameron having made it quite clear that his government (if he gets in) is going to be sympathetic to the motoring lobby (as if they don't have enough bloody sympathy), I think it's really important that pressure is kept up to make urban areas better places to cycle, particularly for women - they're less likely to cycle than men for various reasons, and when they do, they're more likely to be killed.
I know there's a big debate to be had about whether it's better to segregate bikes and motor vehicles or whether it's better to improve road safety for cyclists by having laws and road rules which do more to discourage drivers from killing them, but in the meantime I think this is a reasonably worthwhile petition.
