Wasn't it exciting yesterday!!! Didnt Cav do well!

dh and ds1 were practically wetting themselves!

It was a fab stage. Still don't think Armstrong has it in him to win again but it makes it more exciting now he has 40 seconds on Contador.

What was that all about yesterday ?? I thought Lance was supposed to be riding for Contador not vice versa

All of this doesn't mean I am enjoying watching the whole day's coverage plus the highlights programme every day though and my dh having no other topic of conversation whatsoever

Have to admit we are currently watching yesterdays stage on eurosport as we speak.

I love this time of year.

Astana have been fairly vague about who the team leader is. Bruneel has preferred to say that they will wait and see what happens in the race and then decide. I can't help but think he is in a very difficult position - Contador is the future and he wants to manage him but Amstrong and him have so much history together. It will be very interesting to see who the team ride for in the mountains.

I love cycling, but I have to say (except on the greast mountain stages), the highlights are enough even for me.

Am loving it so far! Watching the Columbia team preparing for the final sprint brought tears to my eyes, it was so perfect. I really hope Cav gets the Green.

Lance is going to be a great side-show though! There is no way he is going to play second fiddle to Contador, I would have thought; and the Tour organisers hate him, so will be trying to catch him out all the time. The fight for the yellow is going to be the best drama on the box!!

Any thoughts on the team time trial? Who is going to lead Astana now? I still don't think Armstrong has it in him to win the race, but if they spilt the team I wonder if either of them will win.

Anyway, I think that Lance is right, it will be the mountain stages which will decide who is top dog in Astana.
He does still seem to have it all though, and God is he wily! His press handling makes Mandelson look like a rank outsider. I'm not a fan of his, but he is so compelling.

I was pleased the Garmin team did well with their stricly no-doping policy...

We have just got back from Monaco (Dahhhhling) to see the Tour and I have just realised that the Ashes are on at the same time. Might get some sense out of DH in a few weeks time.

And guess who got Mr A's autograph....?

I would so love LA to win. We were in Paris for his 5th win, and the atmosphere was electric. I know it's cheesy, I know it is unimaginative but it would be one up to L'Equipe. And I so can't see him playing second fiddle to anyone!

And up Cav - BigHead as DH calls him - but see that boy go!

Fab long week end, but never ever flying with a baby again !!!!!!!!!!! It'll be the Tour of Britain Yorkshire stage for us from now on!

Ooh - is there another thread - will have to look for it. I like Garmin too but am looking forward to the blood fest when Armstrong and Contador go for each other in the montains. I can't really see that there is anyone else really in with a chance.

Andy Schlek - isn't he lovely?

I have a bit of thing for Andy Schlek - v sad that he won't win this year, especially as Contador's not stopping earlier in the week was a bit controversial.
