the club i know also sells little t-shirts for the 3 year olds.

i tried it for a while with DS1, but he's a bit too 'montessori' to be told what to do and it was fairly disastrous.

I was imagining little dresses with a flower on the front like that character in the long ago Watch With Mother programme, and pants with lots of lace on the bottom like Chris Evert....

The local tennis club to us (not near N. London unfortunately) runs childrens classes on Saturday mornings in the summer starting from age 3. It's not expensive (can pay for the whole summer or on an ad hoc basis) & the children have a great time - the 3 year olds don't do much proper tennis to be fair, but it's an idillic setting on grass and they do lots of co-ordination games etc. Sadly I didn't know about it when mine were that age, though they went occasionally when they were a bit older, but if I had, they'd have gone.
