Does anyone on here ski/snowboard regularly in the UK?

Are there any slopes where I can board and dd can have skiing lessons at the same time? I can't afford a sitter to drive for an hour/hour and a half, board for an hour or so, then drive back again. No one seems to open up the main slope when they have dc's lessons on bar Xscape, which will be £40 a shot

Not easy to answer as you don't say where you live.
I know when I learned at the SkiDome in Tamworth the slope was open - don't know if the same would apply for children's lessons though.

We live in Cambridge-thank you both. Pruners-Glenshee looks fab for a break though-their lodge is v v v good value for money! One last question-I have forgotten to buy a hat for tomorrow (all day snowboard lesson at Chill factore in Manchester)-do I need one? I have everything else, so don't want to have to buy their "bundle" of stuff for the sake of a hat!

It isn't the most wonderful dry ski slope and it somewhat strangely situated in the middle of army barracks but have you tried Bassingbourn? Otherwise the next nearest to Cambridge are (I think) Xscape at Milton Keynes or the dry ski slope in NOrwich.

Oooh lilymaid thank you! Dd is just old enough for ski lessons at Norwich, so am going to sign her up for those, and then they have open sessions on a sat and sun that I can go to when she is at her dad's. It might be fun to hone skills seperatly, and then family holidays will be a real shock as to how far we have come !
