Does aqua aerobics give you as good a work out as 'land' aerobics?

I do aqua twice a week and I love it, the girl (woman!) who runs the sessions is fab and we do a real mix - circuits, weights, bit of boxing etc.

But is it as good as me doing aerobics on land? I feel much less self concious in the water and my swimming costume seems to hold my huge rather large boobs in place.

i thought it was supposed to be eiuther as good or better, because you are working against the water as well.

and of course you have the added benefit of being "lighter" etc as you have found out

I think it is a better work out (in terms of reistance and cardio vascular fitness), but feels easier, as yiu are supported by the water. It is not weights of bearing though. I did aquarobics throughout my pregnancy, and it must have done some good as 1- my stomach muscles were too strong for mw to pick up that ds was footling breech and 2 - I was back to pre pg weight in 6 weeks.

I also loved it. Before I was pg, as for the first few weeks, I used to run and cycle lots of miles a week. Hyperemisis put me in bed/hopsital for 6 weeks and when I came out I was really alarmed at how unfit I was. Aquarobics seemed gentle enough for pg, but touigh enough to makwe me feel i'd been doing something!
