and can this be it?

i'd love to hear from anyone else who does/wants to practice yoga on a regular basis, particularly anyone who has a regular home practice.

i've been doing it on and off for years, sometimes with a teacher (the same one) and sometimes at home. between dds 1&2 i managed to find time to practise 3 or 4 times a week and i found i made a lot of progress then. i'm getting back into it again now, and i'm aiming to do a session at least weekly if i can't manage many more just yet.

eventually i'd love to have a daily practice, but finding a good time is always tricky. i've tried first thing in the morning, but i'm just too stiff, perhaps before bed would be better.

so come and tell me about your practice...

thanks poshtottie, I'm doing ashtanga so I need to learn the sequence
noone else in my beginners class appears to be a beginner

Eldon eve, is a led class or is it done mysore style? that is everyone starts together and then goes at their own pace.

Don't worry you will learn it. I did astanga when I did my teacher training and we had to practice every morning. I didn't think I would learn the sequence either.

Not sure if I remember it now but I do remember the opening chant.

In theory it is a led beginners class but it depends on the students
This week it was much more self practice

Eldon - I havent much time to practice as I am expecting no.3 in three weeks.....Anyway I usually would use a good yoga DVD when I practice at home. Also there is a very good ashtanga book by David Swenson and it has all of the sequences illustrated with photos.I think he even has his own website.

Thanks, I have the David Swenson book but a week has passed and I haven't opened it
maybe I'm just not cut out for ashtanga!

Just perusing this thread (I don't come into the Sport & Exercise section very often) and got all excited to see that WhereTheWildThingsWere does Bikram too! I've been going for a few weeks and really enjoy it. It's helped my bad back no end and I love the heat, although completely understand why others don't.
