Can anyone recommend a good, grippy yoga mat?

I'm really struggling to find a replacement for my yoga mat. It’s a rubber pro fitness one that I have had for years. I love it, it’s lovely and soft and I feel confident I won’t fall over on it but after years of use it’s really ready to be replaced.

I bought a sweaty betty one with matching carry case and whilst it looks lovely I absolutely hate it, it’s slippy it marks easy and when I wipe it clean it sucks in the liquid and stays a different colour. I did like the alignment lines on it though it helped me stay even.

I’ve gone down a rabbit hole with research, I was going to buy liforme but then I saw a review that made me think it might be similar to the sweaty betty one and I don’t want a pile of rejected yoga mats!

Im looking for something with good grip, feels nice and has alignment lines. Can anyone recommend one?

I have the Lululemon Align mat and am really happy with it. This is also the brand used at the studio I attend.

I have a Nike one and it is really grippy. Very plain as well which suits my practice. It doesnt mark and i have had it for ages, it is really resistant (no holes or anything). I have a USA pro yoga mat: it marks easily and there are holes already (how???) and it is only 1 year old

Thank you both I will have a look into them! The cat always tried to take a sneaky bite out of my yoga mats so I need to make sure I get a bag.

I impulse bought a Gaiam mat from TK Maxx the other week and I’m really pleased with it so far. It’s nice and grippy.

Liforme are worth every penny
ETA as I saw your full comment. I had a sweaty Betty one and hate how much it marks, like I can see my skin on it after I use it. The liforme one is nothing like that

Another vote for lifeform here - they’re brilliant. I’ve got a couple, one of which is over 10 years old and still great. Definitely worth the money.

Manduka every time. Really the best ones and wouldn't go back to another brand now.

Edit to add: I use a Pro series one is very grippy and well cushioned but they do a GRP adapt range which they say is their 'grippiest' but I've never used that one.

Are lifeform mats that good? Some people have it in my yoga studio and it does mark… unlike my Nike mat.
OP i would really recommend you observe which yoga mats are used in your studio…

I do get marks on mine but they dry away or if they don’t I wash it with soapy water and leave it to dry
