Ultra runners - female YouTube recommendations?

hereweareagain33 · 14/07/2026 15:52

I watch a lot of you tube stuff about ultra marathons and trail running but they are all produced by white men.

(except for wild ginger running who I really enjoy)

there are interviews, audiobooks and podcasts with ultra running women but no race reports/vlogs on training.

I know my algorithm keeps offering me stuff I’ve already shown an interest in but there must be some females out there producing content?

Sabrina Pace-Humphreys is fab. A middle-aged, black trail runner.

hereweareagain33 · 14/07/2026 18:45

I follow her on insta but I didn’t think she did race vlogs. Off to search 🤞

Sarah Perry!

Sarah Perry!

She’s awesome.

doesn’t look like she has her own channel or creates content though?

You Tube is awash with ‘normal’ guys - I have nothing against them, but everyday folk running races and giving tips etc.

I can’t see a ‘normal’ female 🤔

Sabrina is a published author - read and loved her book. Sarah Perry is an absolute champion.

I wonder why there are no female equivalents out there with their go-pro’s? 😞

Sally McRae or Fiona Beverley

ginoclocksomewhere · 14/07/2026 18:56

Amanda Kimiko - she’s incredible, recently paced a half marathon while fairly pregnant- she’s done videos at the Leadville 100 @ Moab

Flora Beverly is another that I’ve enjoyed watching, has done videos in the Scottish highlands and UTMB.

hereweareagain33 · 14/07/2026 18:57

Thankyou - did that autocorrect @bluebagfiend? I have found Flora Beverley 🙂

Loving all these.

still find it interesting that if I look at the UK ultras - say Race to The Stones - there are loads of race vlogs for guys taking part but no females. I’m not about to start any content creation but would love to see a middle aged mum doing a kit list for her 100k and what bra she is considering etc

@hereweareagain33my husbands an ultra runner (with his own insta 🥱) and I completely agree with their not being near enough female ones. It does take so much time training maybe they just don’t have enough time as the men To document? But yes I’d so like to see them talking about bras/ snacks etc

I appreciate you’ve asked for YouTube content, but I’ve had book recommendations for Allie Bailey and There is no Wall.
Actually, thanks for your thread - you’ve just reminded me and I’ve ordered on Audible!
I’ve also just seen her new book, 31 Days, which is a bit more of a training/ mindset read that is accompanied with a worksheet. I’m going to try that as well because although I am not an ultra runner, will take any inspiration!

hereweareagain33 · 14/07/2026 19:59

@Quellayep bought and read both her books! Love 31 days. Have reread it and made notes 😇

Rachel Hewitt writes about ultra running, especially for women - she's great! Don't know if she does YouTube.

Yes - read her book “in her nature” excellent stuff.

I've just started running again 6 weeks ago and am hoping to go slower and longer, the ultra distances for some reason are quite appealing to me, I think because I read they become an eating contest!

Anyway, I've saved some book recommendations for inspiration from this thread so thank you!

It's another white guy, but Jeff Pelletier shares his channel with his partner Audrey, and sometimes he does a race and she crews and sometimes it's the other way round. I enjoy both and seeing how they work as a partnership supporting each others goals. She hasn't done much on gear, but they do both talk about nutrition and hydration a lot.

Note this is all from a lady who only ran 9k so far, but I practically skipped the whole thing I was so excited to be out in nature in the sunshine with a breeze, I got a total runners high 😆

rhodrhi · 15/07/2026 07:51

Not specifically what you asked for but have you read Born to Run?

Incognitoburrito88 · 15/07/2026 09:28

I’m place marking so I can come back to this. I’m addicted to watching YouTube race reports on the stair master!! I too am disappointed at the paucity of female vloggers. I did find a lady who did the Lakeland 50 which I enjoyed. Will see if I can find any suggestions to add. I’ve got my first ultra in November and I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a go pro on Vinted and trying my hand at YouTube but I get so embarrassed filming myself!! Frommummytoultra on instagram is good - she’s just done The Wall and is about to do Castle to castle - no long form stuff but lots of chat about socks, snack and bras!!

Yes I follow him. His partner is lovely too. Very competent.

Yep! Twice.

Good story and I wear zero drop shoes all the time now.

Oh and I read and loved Susie Chan’s book too.

im sensing a theme that elites and pro female athletes have documentaries made about them/publish books or attend interviews.

the everyday female (me) is enjoying the content and getting a lot of advice from the everyday male BUT there is a gap.

if I search arc of attrition I won’t find perimenopausal Sue doing a vlog including her kit check, plans for toilet/san pro… fuelling/chafing and hydration specific to a female.

yes I know Paul’s nuts will chafe and he will have a wee on the trail but I want to hear about Sue getting the right pair of shorts for her chunky arse after endlessly searching for the right pair.

I listen to loads of podcasts. Not keen on women’s running pod but enjoy the magazine. Also listen to tea & trails (too long!), trail runner nation etc

but as I said I’m looking for YouTube that I can watch.

come on Sue. Start some content please 😂
