I’ve had a Domyos T540C from Decathlon for years and it’s finally given up on me after being run into the ground (and I think a house move and it getting knocked around a bit has been the final straw). I get most of my running and steps in on the treadmill after my son has gone to bed, so not having one is really bothering me! I’m unsure which one to get next as while I liked the Domyos, it did have its drawbacks and now I know how much use I get out of it, I think I need an upgrade! I definitely went over the max usage on it at times (probably contributed to its breakdown!).
Space is tight, so I’m finding the super slim/folding flat ones very appealing. But don’t know if they’re good quality for running or just walking. So any advice is welcome please!
Requirements:
- Must fold (as when folded down it blocks a door so cannot stay unfolded when not in use). Ideally folds flat upright but not a necessity if that compromises quality, normal folding one would be fine.
- Be quiet(er) when I’m running on it (the Domyos sounded like a herd of elephants)
- Inclines
- Ability to take a 5-10k run 3 times a week plus daily walking. I’m on the heavier side as well so probably needs a good motor!
- Not bothered about Bluetooth/it linking to apps and heart rate monitors etc as I use my Garmin.
Any recommendations please? I’ve seen so many online but I’d rather hear actual personal recommendations before I spend the money. I have seen the Deer Run ones popping up a lot now - never heard of that brand before but it seems to tick some boxes. And I really like the look of the JTX RunRise XL but haven’t seen many reviews on it - is it any good? That’s probably the max we’re willing to spend as well.
Thanks!
