Sports bra rubbing during training, how can I stop chafing?

I’m running a half marathon in a few weeks and my sports bra, that had felt lovely is now somehow rubbing my skin on the front middle band, where the zip cover is. I did a 10k yesterday and it was red raw after. I think it’s because I’m getting sweatier than I was over the colder months, but if it’s like this on my current runs I’m going to be wincing in pain by the end of the half marathon.

Does it do that because it’s too small or too big? Any suggestions what I can cover my skin with to prevent the rubbing?

Lush silky underwear powder.

E8 hour cream helps fix it, slather it on before bed!

Ouch! What size are you? I wouldn't want anything with a zip full stop to be honest. Can you get away with a more bra shaped one?

Liquid talk! Thank me later!

*talc
rub it on affected areas = 0 chafing

Rub good old Vaseline on the spot before your race. And good luck!

I second BodyGlide

But OP I would get a new bra. I recommend Enell for running.

Don’t do this! True when I didn’t have liquid talc and it burnt like a mother chucker

Have you lost weight during training by any chance?
id change bra I’m afraid. Once it rubs it will always rub I suspect!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I may have lost weight in that very specific part of my body so it’s just got too much movement now. I don’t really want to buy a new bra but think I’ll have to, just wearing a normal bra today is so painful because the skin is raw. Can’t wait to get home and take it off!

I’ll give a couple of the shouts a try first but may just head out for a new bra.

I've used a plaster on a particular bit of skin while I trained a new bra in.

new bra. The zip front ones never work for me, exactly the problem you describe. shock absorber back fastening ones all the way.
