I did my first run today. I found it hard as my fitness is so poor but by the end I was proud to have finished and kind of enjoyed it.

Would anyone like to join the ride with me?

I’m 37 and terribly unfit!

Well done! I’m on week 9 now but still think that first run was the hardest of them all.

Well done for starting. I’m an avid runner now but remember the C25K days. The early days of running are tough, but if you stick at it it gets easier and easier. Until one day you realise it wasn’t that hard at all. Then you’re hooked 😂

I really want to love it… eventually!

Well done, keep going, it works! I started around this time last year, I could barely cope with the 1 min runs, was so red and out of breath at the end I never imagined I could complete the programme, but I did, I finished in the summer and have kept running since, I now do parkrun every Saturday and another 2 5-7k runs during the week. I love it!

Hi can I join? I’ve done week 1 & 2 so came on looking for a buddy and it sounds like you’re at much the same stage.
I’ve done it before but am very out of shape so just taking it really slowly and making sure I stretch properly at the end.

@lechatnoirhi! I’m about to start week 3 but I’m already finding it hard. My fitness is just so poor.

I’m also doing couch to 5k, starting week 3 tomorrow

I think I'll need to do power walking instead of the runs to begin with, do you think that could be a good start? I have a few illnesses.

Beeswacks · 14/04/2026 11:29

I downloaded the app last week, just building myself up to give it a go!

lechatnoir · 14/04/2026 12:45

Having done it before I would say don’t be afraid to Take your time building up & it’s ok to repeat weeks. The very early stages if you’ve never run before it is tough so if you need to do a week or two of brisk walking and build it up slower than the app then do just that. It will mean your journey to 5K might take a bit longer, but you will still get there.
