An update from my last post @samthebordercollie (and anyone else who is interested)…

I am currently very excited! I don’t know how/why I didn’t realise this, but I can buy additional plates for my 10kg dumbbells. I thought that they only adjusted between 5kg up to 10kg. So my problem of not really having enough space to keep buying lots more dumbbells is solved for now. I feel a mixture of a bit silly that I hadn’t realised this, whilst also feeling excited that I have just discovered this!

I’ve also just discovered that I can buy a bar (see photo below) that connects to dumbbells. Do you think this would be worth buying?

Think I’m nearly at the end of Play. Did the one with all the sissy squats the other day, although did squats on toes instead which I think works similar muscles. Woke up with an evil sore throat and headache this morning so may need to take an extra rest day, although it might make me feel better - today’s looks like quite a fun arm day. I’ll see how I feel after seeing Mario with the DC today!

Finished play.
I found the quad sessions the worst and suffered DOMs quite badly after a few of the workouts.
Gong to complete the kettlebell series mixed with any new workouts she brings out.
Will keep doing the shorter series until she starts another 10 week programe.
Im new to the app and plays my first such programe.
I know I have so many to choose from and cant ever get caught up..but I sort of still want to do a programe as it's launched if that makes sense.

Well my throat infection has now morphed into bronchitis- at least I have antibiotics now so hopefully will start to feel better soon.

It’s quiet on here! I’ve been ill and stressed and neglecting exercise. I did play day 38 this morning and felt much better for doing so though. And it’s so nice to have some sun!

Hi @Fibrous sorry you have been ill and stressed. How is the house purchase/ sale going( that is mega stressful)?
I had laryngitis and then got bronchitis - which I am slowly recovering from. Been up night after night with the cough and feel so tired.
I having been doing workouts when I feel able but taking the weights down.
I did the new leg one of Monday and really liked it. I wish she would do more like it. I have really bad doms from it!

Yeah house and work stress. Been very snappy with DP too and he's fed up with me. The house sale is going really fast, I think everything is nearly done, but the house purchase hasn't even left the starting blocks - still no paperwork from our vendors solicitor (estate agent says the solicitor is really good, so it's the vendors themselves who are shit). I hope we don't end up having to move out before our purchase is secured. Also getting hammered with work by the freelance company I work with (one of my three jobs) and I keep telling them I have enough work, and they keep trying to book client meetings that clash with my PAYE job. I'm ready to tell them to get fucked but I do need the money to move so biting my tongue.

I've started Beastmode. I'm quite enjoying the contrast to Iron, and the workouts go by quickly.

No HIIT days though, I'm happy with my running.

Play day 17 for me today - a no repeat upper body. The first 25% disappeared the the rest dragged on but it was good to do it. I've got 9 left in the play program now. I'm going to try to get them finished this month, as well as get some more runs in. I've got a couple of work trips coming up so not going to have weights with me.

I finally got round to doing the new legs one - agility and strength - on Friday. I really enjoyed it - it felt a bit different - but the DOMs yesterday and today are unreal! I might repeat it next week as it's obviously doing something!

I was thinking the same thing - it was refreshing but yes, the doms were crazy!

I finally finished Play. Really enjoyed it, even the ‘groan not more glutes’ days were not too bad. Started Heather’s ‘Fierce’ programme while waiting for the next CG. Day one was quite good, I think she was going quite light on the weights though. She started doing weighted punches, I looked at my lightest weights (4kgs) and thought, I don’t think so lady…

Yes ive tried a few heather workouts and whilst I enjoy them as they are more varied I do think she is using light weights and therefore I cant properly gauge what I should be using the same.
I've done quite a few where she starts doing weighted punches or jacks with her weights that she was previously using for curls or something.

Haha, yes that was it. I think I could do weighted jacks/punches with 2kgs. But it would feel totally pointless using those with curls! I think the best thing is to think, what weights would I use if this was a CG workout?

Hi all.
Is Goback really banned from here??? I miss her contributions to this thread, it is definitely quieter without her.
What is everyone doing now? I am doing the suggested calendar just not always in the correct order or the same week.
I am enjoying doing this because all the workouts are new to me, as I only got the app in December and only really done one full program so far (PLAY)
I recently did the lower body one which required balancing on one leg quite a bit in the bodyweight section, THREE days later and the DOMs are still there!

I have taken a break from CG as have completed all her programmes and series
I am on week 2 of Heather Robertson express 3 which I’m really enjoying as it’s just a bit different and unfortunately there’s quite a bit of cardio thrown in which I absolutely hate. But I’ve noticed I’m finding a lot harder recently, which is either due to age or the fact that CG just doesn’t include this anymore.
Not missing the hyper focus on felts and glutes though !!

Oh I hate cardio too.
I do try to make myself do it once a week but usually find an excuse not to.
For me it's best if it's included within a strength workout then I will do it, but like you say caroline rarely does.(apart from one of her new workouts which I haven't done yet)
I to am finding when I do a cardio session now it's harder work than it used to be.
I blame age and wine

I’ve been doing Heather while I wait for a new CG series (fingers crossed for Fuel Two, but I’m probably alone there…) but don’t want to talk too much about it on a thread about Caroline! Did a glute workout where she made me do very mean things with a band while muttering ‘Caroline never makes me do this.’

Today’s was a unilateral leg day where the entire first circuit was on one side, and the second on the other side. I wonder what the science is behind that, or if she just prefers it!

Tomorrow’s cardio looks unspeakable: ‘During each 5 minute circuit you will perform each cardio exercise for 8 reps. Complete as many rounds as possible within the 5 minutes.’ 😱

I'm another one taking a break from Caroline and doing Heather Robertson. I've almost finished her 12 week Power programme. Day 59 today was a tabata. A warm up, 6 rounds of tabata and a cool down all done in 32 minutes. I was dead afterwards, but in a good way.

Like @whatwoulddexterdo, I did a HR strength and cardio workout a while ago and was shocked at how hard the cardio felt as my overall fitness had definitely dropped. I really need cardio built into an exercise programme. I try to walk a lot but it's obviously not enough. So Power has been really good in that respect. I wouldn't have been able to do the tabata I did today a couple of months ago without taking breaks.

I am planning to go back to Caroline, but the YouTube series such as Epic Heat or Fuel. The app is not for me. I can't face workouts with endless rear delt flies or hip thrusts. I'm not dissing her because repetition is great for building muscle, but if I don't have variety I can't motivate myself and I hit a wall.

Sooo - no new programme in May. What are the FB members saying? I’m a little disappointed, even the new workouts on the May calendar aren’t inspiring, same old same old. I get the impression that Caroline maybe regretting bringing out an App and doing everything herself, it’s a lot of work. Mentioning the new puppy may garner some goodwill but I think she will start losing subscribers it this carries on.

There’s about 250 comments on the FB group- solely about her new pup, but obviously no one asking for an explanation as to why there’s no new series because that post wouldn’t make it through the admins !
Now I am a HUGE dog lover… but….
1 programme only this year… Really?? That’s going to be half the year gone before she does another one
I am increasingly frustrated and peed off that she can’t tell us when the next programme or series is so that we can plan on how to fill out time whilst waiting . It’s really unacceptable
If I hadn’t paid annually I’d cancel and move to Heather Robertson
