Those who did classes such as mummy fit, how did you find it?

There are a couple of gyms near me that do the mummy fit style classes and I’d really like to go and give them a try. I was an avid gym goer before I had my baby and exercise really helps my mental health, but I feel really anxious about going with my baby. She’s 5 months so she can’t really sit up unaided yet, I’m worried she’s just going to be laid there bored or will get upset and cry. I know there will be other mums there who will understand but I get really anxious and flustered when my baby cries in public. I’m also worried about fitting it in around nap times etc.

If you did these types of classes, how did you find it? Did you enjoy the class, and how was it taking your baby?

I did a mums and baby yoga class. I assume similar? The poses all involved the baby too really. Either lifting or eye contact. Was fun and a good chance to meet other mums.

I did one of the outside ones - pram fitness or something I think it was called. All the babies were in the pushchair. Most fell asleep as the warm up was fast walking with the buggy round the park. I really enjoyed it! Lots of times one of the mums would stop to breastfeed, and the instructor was really lovely and encouraging. Great way to meet people too

I do a couple at my local leisure centre - one fitness one and one yoga and enjoy them both. Noone cares if baby gets fussy or you need to stop to see to them and it's a good way to socialise too. The fitness one baby stays in the buggy unless they get bored then I get him out with some toys - I generally come away having done a good workout, yoga the babies get out and lie there/play with toys bit you're encouraged to interact with them (eg give them a kiss in forward fold etc) and there's some baby massage in there as well.... admittedly it's not the most relaxing yoga class I've been too but I do get a good stretch 😆

They weren't for me. OK for the social aspect if you want to meet people, but no good for me from a fitness perspective as they were (very sensibly) aimed at people with a very low level of fitness.
I gave up and just ran with the pram instead to get some exercise in that way.
