Pain in feet whilst running- help!

I run on and off, generally 5-10km distance but recently I've been getting pain down the outside edge of my feet.

At first I thought it was my shoes being a bit worn out, or running after my last dc, but had a gait analysis and new shoes (NB 860s) and still getting it.

I warm up and stretch, sometimes it goes when I hit my stride in a run, sometimes its there the whole run.

Any ideas? I had really hoped the new shoes would sort it but no luck.

Sciatica?

Bobbybobbins · 11/08/2025 18:58

Plantar fasciitis possibly

Possibly peroneal tendinopathy @Bobbiepin?

It would be worth going to a podiatrist and having a professional look at it. IME with feet problems, early intervention can resolve the issue.

Feret problems should not be left - I broke my foot in 2 places and the complexity of all the tiny bones means that I am still in trouble 15 years later.

Certainly no running till it's sorted. Feet are precious - you only really grasp that when they go wrong.

I've had sciatica since my first pregnancy but can generally run through it. Would be weird for it to only affect a small part of both feet with no other pain at the time, right?

Doubt its plantar, it only hurts whilst running, no other time, not even on long walks.

I saw peroneal tendonopathy when I googled but no ankle pain whatsoever. Seems weird for only part of a tendon to hurt. Maybe a trip to a podiatrist is in order.
