Do you have bunions? Do you run?

First few times I went was fine, but since Thursday morning, they've been painful. I'm new to running, is it just a case of them getting used to it?

I have tailors bunions on both feet. I had the right one operated on in 2023 and I run most days. The correct shoe makes a very big difference! I stick with Nike as the toe box is more generous than other brands I have tried. I sometimes wear a toe strap with a gel pad over the bunion site, have you tried this? I still get flare ups every now and then and unfortunately I think the foot I had surgery on needs further work. You could try getting a gait analysis too, that may be beneficial in getting the correct shoe for your running form.
Like anything, as your new to running it’s going to take time to adjust and your body to get used to it but you definitely don’t want to aggravate your bunions or cause them to deteriorate quicker x

Inov-8 trainers for a proper wide toe box. Nike were far too narrow for me. Different brands work better for different people.
I have had one operated on and will have the other done soon, which has made a big difference.
I am also trying to be very cautious about upping frequency, speed and distance too quickly since restarting.
