I am 56 and went through the menopause last year. I am 5ft2 and weigh 8st now.I have put on about half a stone in the last year and I seem to get rid of it .I eat a very healthy diet, stay away from sweets, biscuits etc and don’t drink alcohol. I walk a lot but have never been a gym person, can anyone offer advice?

I think some posters are being a bit harsh OP. You do look lovely and slim, but you’re what I call a thin fat person. You should focus on building muscle which is so important for women as we age, and gradually swap some of your body fat for muscle. You don’t need to lose ‘weight’. The kettlebell exercises or dumbbells mentioned upthread will make a huge difference. Go on a 6-week programme with a local PT to give you a head start then use videos from there if you prefer.

Thank you @BogRollBOGOF, that sounds like good advice. Do you know by any chance if those toning belts you can buy are any good or a complete waste of time?
