Did you see silly boy and Caro clone posts on may 4th.
If not, you should.🙈

samthebordercollie · 08/05/2025 18:04

With the exception of Silly Boy and Caroline Clone most of the show offs are from the US, and the early bed times too - I frequent a few FB fitness groups, most are US based and the average bed time seems to be 8 - 9pm. 5pm is ridiculous, don't people have a life? And it's better to have a good night's sleep than to get up insanely early to work out.
Muscles are torn in the gym, fed in the kitchen and grow in bed.
Alease Bott is definitely top of my CG FB group hates, closely followed by Kala Bouchard. For some reason the FB algorithm always shoves their posts in my face. The Americans take themselves; their workouts, their nutrition etc. so seriously A regular poster I don't mind is Kriztina Bolgonor something. She does reviews - not all of them postive - of the workouts. She doesn't post in action selfies and she isn't ripped, but she's definitely strong.

Gobacktotheworld · 08/05/2025 18:21

Yeah I like her, and the woman called Timea who makes fun of herself a bit and has a pretty dog.

I would unblock that Silly Boy / Caro Clone pair of twits if they posted dog pictures, mind. I missed the 4th of May posts, oh dear, how sad, never mind. Just wish I could miss the crap they post in the app.

ArtTheClown · 08/05/2025 19:03

I just found that May the 4th post. Good lord.

samthebordercollie · 08/05/2025 19:07

Just reading some of the comments on the bed at 5pm post, I think I might recognise one the posters questioning the lifestyle of the OP!

Gobacktotheworld · 08/05/2025 20:36

Yes, I confess. Tis I, Silly Boy! And I know SQUAT about the women's topics I discourse on so glibly, though that doesn't stop me THRUSTing my opinions on you. Guess I'm a total PLANK.🤣

Well done you! And congratulations on fielding the ridiculous comments from other posters defending the weird behaviour of the OP. Ffs.

Gobacktotheworld · 08/05/2025 21:00

It's not me, but that woman is great.🙂

Settled on Max #08 as tonight's workout (skipped it previously).

Admire that Facebooker's kid today who draws cute kid drawings typical of his age but apparently has beautifully regular, neat, adult printing he uses to write all this sweet stuff about his mother. I remember my daughter's brutal review of my exercise regime when she was 5: Mummy should NEVER wear shorts.

Thecatsatonthemats · 09/05/2025 08:38

Where would you advise a beginner starting and with what weights.

That thought crossed my mind also
(Not about your shorts!)😁

Do you have the app? If so, there's a programme called Ultimate Beginner on there, which I really recommend.

I'd suggest you start low with the weights, so you can perfect your form first before going heavier. I started with 1kg and 3kg weights, but was able to quickly move up.

Gobacktotheworld · 09/05/2025 11:17

Yeah. Even two weeks of the free trial plus a one month sub to the app seems worth that Ultimate Beginner program where she talks you through the exercises. One of my offspring, not the now-big rude girl mentioned above, has been doing the first week of it on repeat, workouts 1-3, and it's very good.

Otherwise if you stick with YouTube then Iron seems like a good place to begin. Shortish workouts with decent rest periods. The aforementioned offspring is using 1.5kg-5kg while they learn the ropes.

AtomicBlondeRose · 09/05/2025 11:50

I agree that any weight is fine for your very starting point - I had 2kgs to begin with. Very quickly I got some 4kgs but it’s not about building up fast, it’s more that you’ll feel yourself that you want a bit more challenge. There’s absolutely no rush to move to higher weights! Doing a whole workout body weight would still provide a decent workout.

Thecatsatonthemats · 09/05/2025 13:06

Thank you. Any recommendations as to where to ge the weights?

ArtTheClown · 09/05/2025 14:21

@Thecatsatonthemats as you're looking at starter weights, you could get a neoprene set of three from Amazon or Argos - that was my original purchase.

I won't tell you how much I've spent subsequently buying the heavier weights, but I justify it as not having to pay a monthly gym fee!

If you are near an Asda then sell some too

Yorkshiremum80 · 09/05/2025 18:26

I think I've just seen the posts you are all on about, is it the man from Ireland and his wife who looks a bit like Caroline and he tags Caroline in?
I looked at the May 4th post 😮🤣

DP just took this photo of me sunbathing and here you have it - evidence of what can be achieved with 4/5 CG workouts (preferably under 40 minutes) a week, no add ons, no counting macros, no protein obsession, wine and chocolate every week, the odd run and sometimes paying almost no attention to the actual workout at all 😂 Oh and the absolute bare minimum weighted lunges because as I may have mentioned 1000 times, I hate them.

BigButtons · 10/05/2025 17:19

@AtomicBlondeRose amazing and beautiful and good to hear! I am thinking of ditching the weighted lunges because my legs are just way too bulky. Do you do any lower body with weights?

OP posts:
AtomicBlondeRose · 10/05/2025 17:33

Yeah I do squats weighted and RDLs obviously, but most lunges and Bulgarians I do either body weight or with one small weight (like, CG is up there with 2x 20 and I might have one 7 or 10). I wobble too much with a weight and it makes it so unpleasant for me I want to stop whereas body weight I can see the set through. And I did not know my legs looked like that in a photo so I’m just going to keep going my way!

AtomicBlondeRose · 10/05/2025 17:35

Also, that picture is a prime lesson of “don’t judge people by what you see on the internet” because it looks like I live in some amazing country house with manicured gardens when I’m on a lounger a neighbour was going to send to the tip and what you can’t see is that DP was standing squashed up against the washing line and that my view was primarily an aging Berlingo on the driveway surrounded by gardening tools.
