Do you think expensive gyms are worth the money?

I have been going to the gym on-and-off for over a decade and what has really helped me stick to it I think is going to an expensive gym.

I used to go to PureGym when I was a teenager and thought as I’m paying for it, I will go and while it started off well, I eventually stopped going as it wasn’t much money and there wasn’t a fixed contract so I could just cancel whenever I wanted.

I now go to a more premium gym where I am fixed into a contract and I go 4-5 times a week and have been going to the gym for nearly a year without quitting. I actually look forward to classes now and exercises as it’s a lovely place to workout and you have a pool to use which is great as I love to swim.

What is everyone else’s thoughts? Has this made a difference to you?

@TheDevilWearPrimarni Yeah- I realised I mistyped upthread and said MyGym when I meant The Gym. The Gym is so good. It is pared back to basics as you say but they are always v clean (if sometimes a bit cold) and there's tonnes of equipment which never seems to be broken.

Not for me. I follow Sydney Cummings on line and it’s free. I have a gym at home but before that I just kept my weights and mat under the sofa in the living room.
I can fall out of bed at 5am and be in the gym by 5 past.
I am currently on holiday and using the gym here. Between the weird man making sex noises on the exercise bike and the obviously ill man who coughed all over all the weights before picking them up, I am very sure I much prefer to work out at home!
