Does sauna help you continue to burn calories after exercise

If I exercise and then sit in sauna/steam/jacuzzi. I find my feeling of a higher pulse rate/energy burn seems to last longer. Am I burning now calories? Is there any evidence to suggest this is good for you or just an illusion?

The sauna is nice after exercise but I doubt it burns noticeably more calories!

No, it won't have any impact on calories, but the heat shock protein it triggers are good for overall health.

I think I heard Dr Rhonda Patrick of Found My Fitness, who is an expert on this, say yes it does in a Podcast, although it might just have been about similar cardiovascular benefits. Here's one of her articles www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/sauna-heart-presentation

A cold shower would burn more.

I love the steam room, but the cold bucket or shower afterwards is the real treat.

Hate the Jacuzzi, just want to sleep 😴

Thanks everyone.

I like the cold showers after too, especially in this heat!!

@TheKneesOfTheBees if those stats are true the benefits are quite impressive
