Extra short training sessions? Advice from people who know something about weight training!

Hello

For the last year I have had a PT session a week which I absolutely love, focusing on strength training and weight training.

The hour generally consists of warming up for 5 mins, then different exercises usually in sets of two exercises each for 8 reps, 3 times. And then some core work.

I want to integrate more weight training into the rest of my week but I also run and with all other life stuff struggle to find an hour.

Would it still be beneficial to weight training in the week in very short sets?

I.e one two exercise, 8 rep, 3 set?

So: 8 reps deadlift, 8 reps kettlebell swings, repeat 3 times.

I could squeeze something like this in about 4 times a week as it would only take 10 mins - but want to know if it's even beneficial?

Yes, I often pop into my garage and do a few sets when I’ve time.

Could you ask your PT to programme you something that would complement what you’re doing? I have 2 full sessions a week but then my PT has set me a half hour core session to do at another point in the week too. Or you could just concentrate on smaller accessory movements?

Use a kettle bell or single dumbell.

10 reps each exercise with no rest. Then swap sides. 1 minute rest.

Repeat x 3

Single leg lunge
Single arm shoulder press
Single leg romanian dead lift
Single arm gorilla row

That sounds fine. As long as you warm up properly - start with doing 10 body weight squats, do a set of DLs with no weight, do a set of KB swings with a very light weight.
