How did you manage "runner's knee"?

I did c25k a few years ago and have managed to keep it up (although it takes me a bit longer than 30 minutes!). Last week when i got back home my knee felt sore at the side and a little clicky. Googled and it sounds like runner's knee?? Anyone had this ... question is how long to repair and any tips/advice? Thanks a lot x

If you've been running for a few years are you still in the same shoes? It might be time for a replacement if so.

Doing a proper warm up and cool down always helps, but it's easy to feel complacent and skip them. But they do help prevent injury. I'm also a fan of a post run yoga session too, which I swear helps stretch out any niggles.

Thank you... i get a new pair of shoes every other Christmas. Due a new pair this year 🤩. I admit i have got a little complacent on the amount of warm up but i will certainly try some post jog yoga. Thanks for the suggestion x

Definitely get a physio to look at any ongoing issues.

I ended up finding out I had a cyst behind one knee but the other one just needed some fairly simple exercises to strengthen a weakness in my glutes that caused it to turn in when I was fatigued.

Well worth the time and cost I'd say.

Thanks! Yes I'm waiting for the physio to come back to me as although it's much less sore it's still not right. I miss going out for a run even though I'm no athlete! Interesting what you say about your knee turning in.... mine does that with weighted squats but I've not noticed it with running so much. I will mention it when i go as it never occurred to me that it might be connected so thanks again!
