Muscular fitness influencers 35+

I'm 38, I used to be fit as a fiddle and very strong. I'm now unfit and any muscle I do have is hidden under 30kgs of lard. I've had virtually no success at 'weight loss' recently so trying to come at it from a different tack and aim to be muscular, build a really muscular physique. I kinda need some inspo though, are there any good, older muscly influencers out there?

Caroline Girvan is 39 and she's a fucking MACHINE.

I'm 40 and you should see the arms and shoulders on me since working out with Caroline. I'm working on chinups and I'm up to 5 fully unsupported.

Just bear in mind if you do build tons of muscle but its still underneath '30kgs of lard' you probably wont look much different!
But def worth trying a different tack and eating really healthy to build muscle....you will probably find yourself losing weight incidentally.

Redefining Strength is good.

I like Mark Lewis' general health/ fitness ethos even though he's somewhat different to where I'll ever be.

Yup. No matter how good your muscle definition underneath, the only way you can see it is if it isn't under a fat layer. I was surprised how much a relatively small weight loss (in the healthy weight range) increased the visibility of my arm definition.

That said, muscle is its own reward, and improves health and overall posture and look even if it's not directly visible.

Oh i know, no one will see anything under all the lard 🙈 but i just feel like i need to focus on something else

Another vote for Caroline Girvan here. I'm 58 and before starting her programmes 18 months ago I was a skinny but saggy runner. Il now strong, balance and have muscles I never bought were possible! I work out at home with dumbbells, she has programs on YouTube or her App CGX
