Hamstring help

Ok, I managed to pull my hamstring, I think quite badly.
The pain is awful and the first day I couldn't really walk. Been putting ice on it, resting with my leg up and taking pain killers.
Have some weird sensation/low grade pain down my calf too.
I can't sit down as bottom on my butt cheek hurts so much.
I'm always missing the gym. Anyone had this injury and have any idea of healing time.
Should I bother with GP or will they just say carry on as I'm doing?

I too strained my hamstring a couple of weeks ago. I went to Physio rather than GP and she has given me graded exercises and I am much stronger and more comfortable now. Hoping to get back running soon. Not the nicest injury I have to say. I didn’t have the pain in my bum and into my calf though so may be worth going to GP to confirm diagnosis.

GP sent me to urgent care, who said there was nothing to be done and to continue to rest it.
It's 2 weeks now and still very painful and sitting is still hard.
I also have found my leg is wobbly.
Hospital said if it hadn't improved in 2 weeks to go back to GP but they have already told me it's 4 months wait for a scan and so not sure what else to do.
