How to track steps/movement without phone and without obtrusive 'watch' thing?

Any recommendations?

I wear a bracelet on one wrist and a nice watch on the other and so havent thought about wearing something to track my movement but feel that I need this now as Im trying to get moving more.

I barely have my phone on me most of the time so that isnt really an option

I use one of these looped around my knickers (wrist loop one), but you can also get ones on a neck loop.

Is this a joke? I mean obviously buy a Fitbit or something simular you can get many cheaper versions which track steps and function as a watch

There are any amount of simple pedometers that you can clip onto a belt loop or wear as a pendant if you aren't wanting it do do anything other than track steps.

I wear a galaxy smart watch with a leather strap - it doesn't really look like a smart watch at first glance as I dont like the big square face/plastic strap they usually have, but it does still do all the fancy stuff.

This is brilliant I had no idea these types of things existed.

And for other posters to clarify I dont want to wear an electronic or digital watch type thing. That was already set out. I also dont have any apps or inclination to use apps, just want something to show me what Im doing.

Before smart watches / phones there used to be clip-on pedometers that fitted on your waistband. Do they still exist?

I had one that could either be clipped into a watch strap and worn (which due to 'bare below the elbows' policy I couldn't do) but it had another clip/ hook thing and I would hook on my belt or my sock depending what I was wearing.

Really helpfully I can't remember the name of the brand sorry.

The Oura ring is nice and looks nice https://ouraring.com

Wow, I had no idea of something like this, that is really nice and so clever, so unobstructive I could wear it all the time. I get changed several times a day so was wondering about the faff of those clip on pedometers and ideally I wouldnt mind distance travelled etc

However, I would need an app apparently and you sign up for a membership which costs every month (not much it seems) and all the info is on the phone which I dont like using

I just use an ordinary pedometer off Amazon and shove it down my bra!

Yes I was thinking of bra!

Loving that ring idea above though, wondering if I can get past the anti app attitude!

@soupfiend I finally remembered the one I had (Jawbone Up Move). Less helpful than it could be though because the company went bust in 2018 😂
Shame the reviews for the ring were so pants.
