I’m just over 16 weeks away from my first marathon. I had surgery in October so was off running for 5 weeks, but have gradually built back up.

Managed a total of 22 miles last week, including a long run of 9 miles.

And now I have bloody Covid!

So frustrated I could cry! Am on day 4, and feeling rough but better than yesterday.

So if you’ve managed to get back into your running stride post Covid, please can you cheer me up? I realise everyone is different, I’m just looking for hope!

I take it easy for the first couple of runs after any illness. Keep it short, escapable and slow. Walk if needed. I've been known to walk the milage on plans if that's comfortable but running isn't quite right yet in order to balance recovery and keeping up with the plan.
