What are your road running shoes?

I have a neutral gait, wider than average foot, and am looking for some shoes for long-distance road running. I have quite a heavy foot strike so may need something bouncy.

I have been to running stores and had my gait analysed, have previously worn a combination of Brooks, Asics, Mizuno and Saucony, also NB, but have not really been happy with any of them, either not supportive enough, or are not comfortable for longer distances (I think my feet must swell) and I do get a half size or one size bigger than my normal.

Try Hoka

Clifton are the general purpose, quite light ones, suitable for long distance.

As you have wide feet, try the mens (they're made on a wider last)

Have you tried men's shoes? I'm a low volume 41 in street shoes, but I like wearing a men's 42.5-43 for running so I have loads of room to wiggle my toes. I wear Brooks Ghost and Saucony Triumph (squishier than the ghost) at the moment. I do wear ankle braces though which full out the heel.

Hoka are really narrow.

My favourite long run shoe is a Nike Vomero, very cushioned without being super heavy or clumpy, and responsive enough that if you want to do some faster stuff in your long runs it’s not an ordeal.

Mizumo wave sky 7. I have bunions so need wide shoes, also need lots of cushioning for my knees. Apparently quite different to previous iteration in terms of cushioning. Very happy with them so far - previously using Brookes Adrenaline which also were v comfy and good for my wide feet.

I wear On Cloudflyer, wide fit. On my second pair after I did 1000k in my last ones.
They are a structured shoe but you could look on the On website for wide fit neutral options

Asics GT 1000-11. I slightly over pronate. They are very bouncey.

Brooke Ghost. Can't remember number. And I land on the outside of my feet, whichever that is.

Nike Pegasus

I would have written the same as you last year. Then a gentleman at the Running Show relaced my shoes. Total game changer.

Try this with any of your current shoes? Hope pics are helpful

New Balance Fresh Foam for longer training runs on road. Well supported and nice cushioning. I have also previously got on with Mizuno Waves.

i also have wide feet and quite a heavy runner.
