I've got loads of these marks going from my armpit down my sides and down my arm. I've been doing some body pump and PT sessions. They don't hurt and appear to be under the skin in long lines. I do remember really struggling with the weight a week ago when using the barbell to do clean and presses. Just wondering what your opinions are

Have you been doing quite a lot recently or is that all quite new for you? It’s difficult to tell but if this is new exercise the marks are suggestive of stretch marks secondary to muscle development and the skin having to adapt to this. It does look very superficial meaning just within the skin layer

They look like pinch, squeeze bruises. I get them over my arm if I carry a heavy bag with narrow straps

Yes I've been doing a lot over the past month and it's new to me. It's mainly on my left but there's still a few on my right. I only noticed them today , I haven't worked out for 6 days because I've been away but I've no idea how long I've had them

It does suggest that then - they typically become less noticeable over time but just do the regular things you would for stretch marks - creams etc would be helpful. Now your skin has adapted it shouldn’t become any worse, and hopefully that doesn’t put you off on continuing exercising!

Even more suggestive - it’s a classic location for it as well

Littlemissprosecco · 10/08/2023 14:55

Still looks like bruising/ grazing

This happens sometimes when you've really pushed yourself with weights. They'll go as soon as they came and are nothing to worry about.
