Feeling like shit after body pump class 😔

I've been once or twice before but haven't been in ages so basically starting again. I was really nervous going, as never done weights before. Tonight was a different instructor, who was lovely but kept constantly correcting me in the class by calling my name out or coming over to me. At the end of the class she came over to show me a few lifts and to explain how to do it and what I was doing wrong. Even when showing me one to one I couldn't get my posture right, she was being nice but I did sense frustration. I think I was just overwhelmed and flustered by this point and wanted to go. I don't have the best co ordination and I'm alot heavier then I used to be. I just feel so embarrassed 😥

It is a lot to take in, but correct technique is really important. As others have said, practice in between and you’ll see a massive difference with the next class. It’s the only exercise I can tolerate and lifting weights js so important for women

Sounds like you have the best instructor. Used to live going to body pump. Our instructor used to tweak everyone. Those little tweaks have the best impact on results. Moved towns and ended up going to other classes. Sorely disappointed by the lack of correction by instructors who only cared about themselves. Stopped going!

I would hate to be corrected constantly throughout the session, but wouldn’t mind if an instructor came up to me afterwards to correct my form. I love BP. I hope you keep going OP.

My first couple of body pump classes the instructor had told me to come while doing another of her classes, I just used the empty bar until I was comfortable and she never corrected me by name during the class but modeled what she meant from the front.
