I am not a mum but desperate to find a chlorine free pool and I noticed there had been some discussion on this topic, Does anyone know any pools that don't use chlorine, it makes me really poorly and swimming is so important to me. I live in Leeds but will travel!
Thanks everyone

The only one I know is in Canary Wharf in London, sorry OP! I believe it's something like oxygen filtered- maybe you can Google that?

janekc · 27/03/2023 17:32

That's really helpful. Thank you I'll look into it
Cheers

I’m in London and some of the posh hotels have them.

Businessflake · 27/03/2023 20:38

Yes Third Space in Canary Wharf has one so if you look that up you might be able to Google similar. More likely in a private gym I would think.

Outdoor swimming!

seperatedmum · 27/03/2023 20:47

outdoor swimming for the win! also Herts sports village pool is a kinder system to your hair and never smells of chlorine

There is a brine pool in Walsall. It's at the Gala leisure centre and it's set at a lovely warm temperature.

CarrotCakeMuffins · 27/03/2023 21:20

There is also an outdoor brine pool in Nantwich Cheshire.

Badbudgeter · 27/03/2023 21:22

Sheraton hotel in Edinburgh has an ozone pool.

ChirpyChirpyCheepCheepBeep · 27/03/2023 21:33

‘The Brine’ in Walsall: hot and salty
Axminster has a UV pool

lljkk · 27/03/2023 21:45

Apparently Lancaster Uni still has an ozone treated pool. It's so much kinder than chlorine, still a tiny tingle to the eyes, but almost nothing. Better than salt, I'd wager.

Worth a visit, especially when the hotel they are building on site is open

I read that stainless steel pools don't need as many or possibly NO chemicals at all. Would you have the space/money to put in a small lap pool with a jet to swim against in your own garden? I'm looking into this exact thing right now.

janekc · 28/03/2023 15:01

Thanks. That's interesting buy no room and finances for that option I'm afraid

If I ever get very rich, I'm having a swimming pond. They filter themselves and are so much nicer than chlorine.

It looks as if the pool at Leeds Uni has a UV system that reduces the amount of chlorine: https://sport.leeds.ac.uk/the-edge/swimming/ (not the same as chlorine-free but also closer to home). Also Uppergate Farm in Holmfirth https://www.uppergatefarm.co.uk/Swimming-Pool

Moorlander · 01/04/2023 20:44

The pool at Titanic Spa is "salt regulated' . It's in Linthwaite near Huddersfield so not too far to travel. I've only been as part of a spa package but think you can use the gym facilities separately? It's not 25m but big enough to have a proper swim. It's a lovely setting!

Amazing I'll Cheshire it out. Thanks

I was also going to suggest outdoor swimming. If you're interested, join a few local wild swimming groups on Facebook. Amazing for mind body abd soul.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 02/04/2023 07:42

@janekc, if you are interested in outdoor swimming, join the FB group "FLOWS" - Fabuous Leeds Outdoor Wild Swimmers.

Doje · 02/04/2023 09:31

All outdoor swimming but you can swim at Leeds dock, St Aidans nature Reserve (Castleford way) and at Sparth reservoir which is Marsden. Otherwise as PP said Titanic near Hudds.
