Maintain muscle but trim down

I'm in a bit of a muddle and would love to hear from anyone else who is in a similar position. I am pretty lean, visible abs, sculpted shoulders etc. I don't need to lose any weight. I'm trying to get my legs as sculpted as my upper body but I don't want to make them any bigger. Everything I know says that true and visible body recomp can only happen through lifting weights, heavy and consistent. But I am a hyper responder (PT words not mine) so build muscle easily and I run the risk of my legs getting bulky. How on Earth do I make them sculpted but leaner??

It’s hard to go against your body type. You’re lucky to make muscle so easily. Maybe your legs are just not destined to be lean?

But some Pilates might help you. Proper ballet classes (not the “Barre workout” crap) would be even better but that’s quite specialised.
