What do you do if you can't do weights (tennis elbow)?

I did some treadmill, cross trainer and bike today but want to get the most from going

All the things you have listed are excellent cardio. If you're working up a sweat, you're doing great. Stairmaster is an option if your gym has it. I personally hate it but its a great way to slow down time, if you can bear it 😅

If you are looking for weight alternatives, I would suggest possibly trying the resistance bands. You can get them im various "strengths" and you can do lots of things with them.

The cable machines would be my starting point for upper body. You can get so many attachments such as handles, ropes and bars. Start as light as possible and stop if it causes pain.

You could also make use of some of the leg machines/ exercises if your difficulty with weights is mainly based in upper body (assuming you gym has pin loaded machines and you don't need to carry weight plates to machines)

  • walking lunges
  • leg press
  • hamstring curl
  • leg extension
  • step ups
  • cable kicks
  • goblet squats (maybe with kettlebells or a single Dumbell if you can lift them. There's no hinge movement with the arms beyond the initial lifting/holding)

Swimming is another great one, if you have access to a pool.

I pay a trainer to set me strength targets 2x a week. I know I should be able to do it on my own, but it takes the decision fatigue away and gives me accountability. Every month or so the trainer checks my form, which is generally fine.

For cardio I bike, rower, or walk outside. Cardio is easy. I also do yoga.

Thanks, I'm going to do some youtube yoga/stretching tonight, I didn't stretch this morning and can feel my hamstring.

I love swimming but need a new costume.
