Legs bums and tums? Am I fit enough?

Hi everyone,

Ive joined a gym recently. So far I’ve done step classes and body combat. Body combat was hard for me I ached for a couple of days after. Step was better and I could do it.

Ive lost weight recently Im now 10 stone 10 but have no upper body strength.

I want to book a legs bums and tums class but I’m worried about the weights element.

Has anyone got any experience with LBT and how does it compare to other classes?

I’ve only been in the gym for 5 weeks - I’ve done LBT and it was fine (for context I’m about half a stone heavier than you and hadn’t done much exercise other than walking before this!)

give it a go - the trainer should be able to guide you so you don’t lift too heavy to begin with

At my gym the instructor always says you can do the squats and lunges without weights if you prefer, or just hold a plate rather than going for a bar if you don't know how much weight to start with. Just get there a bit early and have a chat with the instructor - they're there to help!

Do it. I looked like Michelin Man compared to everyone else when I first started! The Instructor usually tailors the class for beginners, just have a word with them before it starts.

LBT doesn't always involve weights and even if it does you can do the same exercises with body weight only or use lighter weights.

The LBT class i go to has a wide range of ages, sizes and abilities and the instructor will tailor the moves to suit everyone e.g. if the person can't lie down she will give a move that can be done standing up.

I did it! Thankyou for the encouragement. It was hard but I got through!
